During the 2024 U.S. presidential campaign, prominent celebrities publicly supported Kamala Harris or Donald Trump, while others appeared at campaign events or performed without necessarily making a separate endorsement. Among the most visible names in contemporary coverage were Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé for Harris, and Kid Rock, Hulk Hogan, Waka Flocka Flame, Elon Musk and Zachary Levi for Trump. This is a selective comparison of widely reported activity, not a ranking or exhaustive list.
Which celebrities supported Harris and Trump?
The Associated Press’s final-week account highlighted Springsteen, Swift and Beyoncé among Harris’s prominent supporters, and Kid Rock, Waka Flocka Flame and Hulk Hogan among Trump’s. Axios’s evolving roundup and other campaign-trail reporting add names and distinguish between public endorsements and event appearances.

| Candidate | Prominent names in contemporary coverage | What was reported |
|---|---|---|
| Kamala Harris | Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé | Springsteen endorsed Harris and Tim Walz and later appeared at a Harris rally. Swift endorsed Harris after the September 10 debate. Beyoncé was reported as a prominent Harris supporter. (Associated Press, October 2024; Axios, 2024; FactCheck.org, November 15, 2024) |
| Donald Trump | Kid Rock, Hulk Hogan, Waka Flocka Flame, Elon Musk, Zachary Levi | AP highlighted Kid Rock, Hogan and Waka Flocka Flame. Musk publicly endorsed Trump in July. Levi was reported backing Trump and appeared at a Michigan rally. (Associated Press, October 2024; Axios, 2024; The Washington Post, October 25, 2024) |
The labels matter: an endorsement is an expressed political choice; a rally appearance is participation in an event; a performance may be entertainment. They can overlap, but one does not automatically prove the others. The Washington Post also reported country performers Jason Aldean and Lee Greenwood in connection with Trump events, while AP reported James Taylor at events with Tim Walz in North Carolina. Those event reports should not be read as proof that each performer issued a separate formal endorsement.
What did Bruce Springsteen and Zachary Levi do?
Bruce Springsteen
Springsteen publicly backed Harris and Walz in a video, according to Axios’s roundup. He also appeared with Harris and Barack Obama at a Georgia campaign rally, reported by the Associated Press on October 24. The endorsement and the rally appearance are distinct parts of his campaign activity.

Zachary Levi
The Washington Post reported on October 25 that actor Zachary Levi supported Trump and appeared at a Michigan rally. That reporting places him among Trump’s visible celebrity backers; the appearance itself is not a substitute for the reported expression of support.
What did Taylor Swift’s endorsement show?
Swift endorsed Harris after the September 10, 2024 presidential debate. Reuters reported at the time that her endorsement post had received more than 9 million likes. That is a dated measure of online engagement, not a count of people persuaded to vote for Harris. Likes, merchandise preorders and crowd energy can show attention or campaign response, but they do not establish a change in vote choice.

Were celebrities paid to endorse Harris?
FactCheck.org’s November 15, 2024 review found no evidence for the viral claim that celebrities collectively received $20 million for endorsements. It also reported that a Harris campaign official denied the claim that Beyoncé was paid $10 million. Those findings address the claims reviewed; they do not establish a universal rule about compensation for every campaign appearance.

Celebrity support can draw attention, generate campaign events and encourage public engagement. But the cited reporting does not isolate a causal effect on ballots or establish that endorsements changed the 2024 result. The Associated Press noted that campaigns use celebrity star power in hopes of invigorating audiences and encouraging turnout, while also observing that enthusiasm at events may not resolve broader political weaknesses. The Guardian described the electoral effect as debatable. Without evidence connecting exposure to changed vote choices, engagement figures should not be treated as proof of electoral impact.
