Heart cancelled its scheduled European performances in May 2024 after Ann Wilson said she needed a time-sensitive medical procedure and at least six weeks to recover. She did not disclose a diagnosis at the time. In July, Wilson revealed that surgery had removed something cancerous and that she planned to undergo preventive chemotherapy on her doctors’ advice.

What Ann Wilson later revealed
In a statement reproduced by Van Andel Arena on July 2, 2024, Wilson said she had undergone an operation to remove something that “was cancerous.” She said the operation was successful and that her doctors advised a course of preventive chemotherapy, which she had decided to undertake. Her statement did not specify the cancer type or location. Van Andel Arena’s announcement
Cancelled European shows versus postponed North American dates
The notices described different actions in different regions. Heart cancelled the European performances in May. In July, the band postponed its remaining 2024 North American Royal Flush Tour shows and its dates on the Journey/Def Leppard stadium tour. Wilson said doctors had instructed her to stay off the stage for the rest of 2024 to recover.
