Halo: Campaign Evolved is a ground-up remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign—not a new mainline sequel. It launched globally on July 28, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, with early access for qualifying editions beginning July 23. The remake rebuilds the campaign, adds three prequel missions, and supports both online co-op and console split-screen.
What is Halo: Campaign Evolved?
Halo Studios describes Halo: Campaign Evolved as a ground-up remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign. Its announcement says the game rebuilds the environments with high-definition visuals, improved controls, and refined level design. The campaign also adds three missions set before the events of Combat Evolved, featuring Sergeant Avery Johnson alongside Master Chief. Halo Waypoint’s announcement outlines the remake’s scope.
The official materials describe a campaign remake and campaign co-op; they do not establish that the original game’s competitive multiplayer is included.
