The image also includes Ron, played by Alastair Stout, but the official announcement says Ron and Molly Weasley had already been cast—so this is not a reveal of five new characters.
Which Weasley characters were revealed?
HarryPotter.com described the picture as a behind-the-scenes look at Ron and four of his red-headed siblings, adding: “The Weasley family is coming to life!” The four newly announced roles are:

The distinction matters: the selfie features five Weasley siblings when Ron is included, but the post identifies only four new sibling castings. It lists Alastair Stout as Ron, whose casting had already been announced. Katherine Parkinson, already named as Molly Weasley, is not identified as appearing in the selfie.
What does the set image show?
The official announcement says the selfie was released from the series’ set at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden while filming was underway. It does not identify a specific scene or say the image is a frame from an episode; it is presented as a behind-the-scenes photograph.

The picture offers an early look at the actors together as members of the Weasley family, but the announcement does not provide details about their costumes, the scene being filmed or how the image relates to the season’s story.
How the Weasley casting fits into the wider series
The official cast guide lists Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, alongside Stout as Ron. Parkinson plays Molly Weasley. The cast guide assigns Cochrane to Ginny in season one and Bonnie Hill to Ginny in season two; it also lists Rafe Spall as Arthur Weasley, joining in season two.

HBO’s official pages give conflicting dates. The rolling cast guide says the first season debuts Christmas 2026 on HBO, while the Weasley set-image announcement and a separate first-look announcement say the series will debut in 2027. Until HBO clarifies the discrepancy, neither date should be treated as a settled premiere date. Streaming on HBO Max is described as exclusive where the service is available; availability varies by territory.
