Two different videos have circulated: older footage showing Bieber with Combs, and a separate viral clip falsely presented as Bieber discussing the trial.
What the footage does—and does not—show
Reuters reported that video of Bieber as a teenager with the adult Combs resurfaced online alongside speculation about abuse. The existence of footage showing the two together does not, by itself, prove criminal conduct or that Bieber was victimized. In a statement attributed to a Bieber spokesperson, Reuters reported: “Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him.” That is the spokesperson’s statement, not a personal statement from Bieber or an independent finding about every interaction. The Los Angeles Times reported the same day that Bieber’s camp said nothing untoward had happened between the two. That, too, is a denial from his camp—not an independent determination of every event. Los Angeles Times, May 16, 2025.
The viral video of Bieber discussing the trial was altered
A separate clip shared as if Bieber were discussing the Combs trial is not an authentic trial statement. AFP found that the viral video was altered from a 2022 SiriusXM interview. AFP also reported that Bieber had not made a public video statement about the trial. This finding concerns that particular viral clip; it should not be treated as authentication of every video circulating about the two men. AFP Fact Check.

What is alleged in the Combs case
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York announced federal charges against Combs on September 17, 2024. The office expressly cautioned that the indictment and its descriptions are allegations, and that every fact described should be treated as an allegation. Has Hailey Bieber commented?
The sources cited here do not establish whether Hailey Bieber commented on the particular footage or claims behind the headline. That means “stays silent” is not a verified conclusion from this coverage; it would require evidence of what she said—or a suitably bounded search establishing that no relevant comment was found.

How to assess a clip making a serious claim
Before treating a video as evidence, separate what can be seen in it from what a caption claims it means. These checks help prevent an old clip, an edited excerpt, or a false attribution from being mistaken for proof:

- Find the original and its date. Look for the full interview or recording, not just reposts or excerpts.
- Check whether it was edited or miscaptioned. A clip’s framing can change its apparent meaning; AFP’s finding about the trial-discussion video is a concrete example.
- Describe only what is visible. People appearing together in footage does not, on its own, establish what happened outside the frame or whether a crime occurred.
- Look for reliable reporting or official records supporting the inference. Keep allegations, denials, and independently established facts distinct.
