What happens to Catherine in “Take Me to Church”?
Amelia recognizes multiple tumors on Catherine’s liver while looking at scans, not knowing whose they are. Catherine tells Meredith she believes the tumors will be fatal. She asks Meredith not to tell Richard, hoping to spare him panic while she considers how much time she may have.
Meredith asks Bailey to consult. Bailey says the tumors could be benign and recommends a prompt biopsy. Catherine initially resists, but agrees. Near the episode’s end, Meredith and Bailey enlist Teddy to help with the procedure. Levi expects not to get the pediatric fellowship and tries to maintain professional distance from Cal, a boy with a genetic disorder that predisposes him to cancer. While treating Cal with Monica, Levi clashes with James, the hospital’s new chaplain. James is willing to talk directly with Cal about death and even offers him a casket catalog; Levi initially sees this as too blunt.

After Amelia and Monica operate successfully, Cal begins shaking and codes. Levi tells Cal and his father that he may have weeks or months at best. James’s approach pushes Levi to see Cal as a person, not only a patient. Levi encourages Cal to make a list of things he wants to do, then admits to James that shutting out pain does not stop it from hurting.
Does Nora survive surgery?
Nora, an old friend of Owen and Megan, arrives at Grey Sloan glad for a break from the demands of her busy home life. Then she starts vomiting blood. Teddy urgently searches for a surgical partner to treat Nora’s esophagus, and Owen volunteers. Nora survives the operation.
A memory Nora shares about Owen’s father hints at a possible emotional thread, but the episode does not explain its significance.
What happens between Blue and Molly?
Molly, who has amnesia, is sleeping in Blue’s bed while he takes the couch. She accompanies him to the hospital hoping he will tell her about their past. Blue explains that he cheated on her and that the infidelity ended their relationship; he says he regrets it.

Their fight was followed by the car crash that erased Molly’s memory. Molly says she is not angry and feels she has had a chance to start over. She wishes she could remember Blue, and he kisses her. They do not resolve whether they will get back together.
What changes for Richard, Winston, Lucas, and Teddy?
Richard takes Winston and Lucas golfing. Winston points to Richard’s performance on the course as evidence that he may still be capable in the operating room. Richard offers Lucas a possible connection who could help with remediation, through a friend of Lucas’s uncle Derek. Lucas had considered avoiding a repeat of the past year; after the outing and a conversation with Sydney, he decides not to avoid it.

The workplace shake-up also continues. Amelia learns her lab is no longer hers. Richard tells Teddy she is no longer chief and must prove herself as a surgeon without breaking rules. Bailey comes to Catherine hoping to get her residency-director role back, but Catherine redirects the conversation to her health and Meredith.
At the end, Teddy tells Richard she wants to be chief again. He gives no firm answer, and the episode does not show her regaining the position. Meredith and Bailey then ask Teddy to assist with Catherine’s biopsy.
What remains unresolved at the end?
