How old is Gabby Logan?
The Guardian reported in a 2007 profile that Logan was born in 1973. That makes her 52 or 53 on 8 October 2026, depending on whether her birthday has passed; the cited profile does not give a day and month, so a more precise age cannot be confirmed from it.

From radio to television sport
Logan began presenting for Newcastle’s Metro Radio in 1992. She joined Sky Sports in 1996, then moved to ITV in 1998. The Guardian describes her as the first woman to present a live terrestrial football match in Britain.
Joining the BBC and covering major events
Logan joined the BBC in 2007. The BBC’s Euro 2012 media pack lists her work on Final Score, Inside Sport, the Six Nations, the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Match of the Day, The One Show and BBC coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

BBC Sport’s announcement of the new Match of the Day presenters describes her experience presenting men’s and women’s World Cups and European Championships, the Six Nations and Olympics coverage. It also notes that she has co-hosted BBC Sports Personality of the Year since 2013.
In an interview published on 15 April 2026, the Royal Television Society marked Logan’s three decades in broadcasting and reported her recognition with its Programme Award for Sports Presenter, Commentator or Pundit.

Is Gabby Logan on Match of the Day?
Yes. From the 2025–26 season, Logan shares presenting duties with Kelly Cates and Mark Chapman. The three rotate across Saturday’s flagship Match of the Day, Sunday’s Match of the Day 2 and Wednesday’s MOTD: Champions League; the arrangement does not mean all three present every edition together. BBC Sport reported the change on 16 May 2025.
Logan said of sharing the role: “It’s really great to share it because we bring different experiences and different interests within the game.”
