When was the GTA 6 trailer supposed to come out?
Rockstar scheduled the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer for Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 9 a.m. ET (6 a.m. PT), according to BGR’s December 4, 2023 account. That specific date followed Rockstar co-founder Sam Houser’s earlier, less precise announcement that the trailer would arrive in “early December.”
On November 8, 2023, Houser said: “We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto.” The quote was reported by BGR. It did not name December 5; that date was announced later.
Why did the trailer arrive on December 4?
The trailer leaked on Monday, December 4, 2023, and Rockstar released it early that day, BGR reported. That means December 5 was the announced schedule, while December 4 was the actual publication date. The title’s “Mark Calendars” wording refers to the original plan, not when viewers ultimately got the trailer.

What is the current GTA 6 release date?
As of October 8, 2026, Rockstar’s official Grand Theft Auto VI page lists November 19, 2026 as the game’s release date and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as its platforms. The page features Trailer 1 and Trailer 2, as well as The Vice City Collection, which Rockstar describes as a limited-edition collectible set.
Those are current-page details, not information about the 2023 trailer schedule. Check Rockstar’s page for any later changes to the game’s date, platforms, or availability.
