Epic Games presented it as the kickoff to Chapter 2 Remix, which launched the next day. It was not the season finale: that was a separate in-game event scheduled for November 30.
What happened at Remix: The Prelude?
On November 1, Snoop Dogg and Ice Spice performed in New York’s Times Square while the show was streamed into Fortnite. Epic described the event as blending the real-world performance with an in-game broadcast and called it Remix: The Prelude. The name signaled its role: an introduction to the season beginning the following day.

Epic’s announcement described the artists as having “took over Times Square” with a “mic dropping performance streamed live in Fortnite.” The statement was attributed to Epic Games, rather than to a named performer or event organizer.
How did the concert introduce Chapter 2 Remix?
Chapter 2 Remix launched on November 2, 2024, bringing back the Chapter 2 island in remixed form. Epic said the season would change locations and loot week by week, drawing on early Chapter 2 gameplay and music icons.

The artist tie-ins shaped parts of the island and its seasonal content:
- Snoop Dogg was featured at the Agency, renamed The Doggpound.
- Eminem was featured at the Grotto.
- Ice Spice was featured at Shark Island, renamed Ice Isle.
- The season later included a celebration and tribute to Juice WRLD.
So the Times Square performance was the season’s opening live event, while the remixed map and artist-linked updates carried the theme into Battle Royale over the following weeks.

Was the concert the Fortnite season finale?
No. Remix: The Prelude took place on November 1, before the season started. Epic separately scheduled the in-game Remix: The Finale for November 30, 2024, at 2 p.m. ET. Epic’s announced season window ran from November 2 through November 30, ending at 10 p.m. ET.
The dates distinguish the two events: the Prelude introduced Chapter 2 Remix; the Finale was the later season-ending event.
