Epic launched a Simpsons-themed Battle Royale season in 2025 on an 80-player Springfield-inspired island, then published an official guide to its landmarks. Springfield later returned in Fortnite Reload on July 30, 2026, according to contemporaneous reporting. The old “for next season” wording is now outdated; the original leak is best understood as pre-announcement context.
What happened to the Springfield map leak?
Details circulated before Epic officially announced the Simpsons season, which is why early coverage described Springfield as a leak. Epic’s November 1, 2025 announcement confirmed the island and the season, and its November 13 guide documented the map’s locations and Easter eggs. Epic’s launch announcement and the official map guide establish the original map as released seasonal content, not an unresolved rumor.
Epic described the 2025 island as having capacity for 80 players. The season also included Simpsons-themed Battle Pass outfits and animated shorts that appeared in Fortnite and were also available on Disney+. The shorts were an adjacent viewing option, not a requirement for playing; availability on Disney+ may vary by territory and date.

- Evergreen Terrace: The Simpson family home at 742 Evergreen Terrace, nearby houses, loot, and the treehouse. Epic noted that the treehouse had appeared as a teaser during Chapter 6 Season 4.
- Springfield Town Square: The Jebediah Springfield statue, King Toot’s Music Store, The Android’s Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop, and the Aztec movie theatre. The statue also hid an Easter egg involving its head.
- Burns Manor: A sprawling estate with long halls, statues, a hedge maze, and hounds.
- Springfield Nuclear Power Plant: Its twin stacks could be seen from many parts of the island. Players could visit Homer’s workplace and interact with a console in a disaster-prevention sequence.
- Springfield Gorge: A ramp for attempting a vehicle jump across the gorge.
- Kamp Krusty: Another named stop on the map.
Epic illustrated the guide with images captured using Fortnite’s in-game replay tool, making it an official tour of the playable map rather than a collection of unverified leak images.
Did Springfield come back in Fortnite Reload?
Yes. VICE reported on July 23, 2026 that Epic had announced a July 30 release date and teased Springfield’s return in Fortnite Reload. That is a separate appearance from the 2025 seasonal Battle Royale island. VICE’s report also discussed weapons and rewards attributed to dataminers; those details should be treated as unconfirmed unless Epic has since announced them officially.

Does Epic’s Simpsons creator toolkit mean a new season is coming?
No. Epic’s June 18, 2026 announcement said The Simpsons had joined Fortnite’s IP Partner Program, with a developer toolkit planned for later in 2026. The program is intended to give Fortnite developers access to Simpsons characters, locations, and assets for making Simpsons games. It is a creator-facing initiative, not an announcement of a new Battle Royale season or a specific new Springfield map. Epic also said that more than 80 million players and over 750 million hours were recorded during the Fortnite | Simpsons season in fall 2025; those figures are Epic’s own reported totals, not independently audited measurements.
