A TikTok user identified in news reports as joozyb accused Joe Gatto of sexually assaulting her in Milwaukee in 2023, when she was 19. Gatto denied that he would assault anyone. The reports reviewed here do not independently establish what happened or resolve the allegation.
What the TikTok user alleged
In March 2025, joozyb publicly accused Gatto of sexual assault. The Independent reported that she said she approached him at a restaurant in Milwaukee, received tickets to Impractical Jokers, later texted with him and was invited to his hotel room. She placed the alleged encounter in 2023, when she was 19.

The Independent quoted her post: “I got sexually assaulted by Joe Gatto, the Impractical Joker.” It also reported that she shared screenshots that purported to show exchanges between them and a bruise she said Gatto caused. TheWrap reported that she posted photos of bruises and did not provide details of the alleged assault in the account covered by its March 22, 2025 story. These descriptions are her claims as reported by the outlets, not independently verified findings.
The Independent said the main allegation post had received more than eight million views by the time of its March 23, 2025 report. That is a view count reported at publication, not a current total.

How Joe Gatto responded
In a statement reported by TheWrap on March 22 and by Variety on March 24, 2025, Gatto acknowledged what he called poor judgment and a breach of trust, but denied assaulting anyone. He said he would step away from public life to focus on himself. His acknowledgment of poor judgment was not an admission to the sexual assault allegation.
“I have used poor judgment and as a result have violated the trust of the people I love most. But anyone who knows me at all knows full well that I wouldn’t assault anyone. Working on myself is an ongoing process, and I am now going to take some time away from the public eye to focus my energies where I need to.”

What is established—and what is not
The available reports establish that the user made a public accusation and that Gatto issued a denial alongside an acknowledgment of poor judgment. They do not independently verify the alleged encounter, determine what happened, or report a finding resolving the accusation. The accounts and Gatto’s statement should therefore be understood as attributed claims and responses, not as a factual or legal determination.
A June 2026 LegalClarity article said available reporting did not indicate criminal charges or a civil lawsuit related to the claims. That is a secondary summary, not an independent check of court records or police records; it does not establish that no report or investigation exists.

Gatto’s departure from Impractical Jokers
Gatto left Impractical Jokers in 2021, citing personal-life issues and a need to focus on his family and co-parenting. The accusation became public in March 2025, so the 2021 departure predates it and should not be presented as a consequence of the allegation. Variety reported that he appeared in 244 episodes of the series.
