Rhino announced the collection on August 20, 2024, with 2-LP, CD, digital and streaming formats planned for October 4. Its CD listing contains 18 songs; the 2-LP edition divides the same sequence across four sides. The set draws heavily on Foreigner’s early catalog while also including later recordings. Rhino’s release announcement described the group as having sold more than 80 million albums worldwide; that is the label’s reported figure in its 2024 announcement, not an independently verified current tally.

How does the release connect to Foreigner’s Rock Hall induction?
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame lists Foreigner as a 2024 inductee and names Sammy Hagar as the inducer. Rhino framed the collection as a celebration of that honor; its announcement said the induction ceremony would take place on October 19, 2024, a date that has passed. The Hall’s official Foreigner page describes the band’s evolution from guitar-focused, anthemic 1970s rock toward greater use of keyboards and heartfelt balladry in the 1980s.
In a note quoted by Rhino, Jones called the Hall of Fame membership “a priceless highlight” of his career and said he hoped the collection of songs that brought the band there, alongside later recordings, would mean as much to listeners as they did to him. The Hall’s page also quotes producer Mark Ronson: “Everything that made me want to be a record producer came from being in the studio watching Foreigner make records.”

Which albums and chart milestones does Rhino highlight?
Rhino said the collection mainly draws from Foreigner’s first six albums. The label’s 2024 announcement reported these certification levels:
- Foreigner: 5× platinum
- Double Vision: 7× platinum
- Head Games: 5× platinum
- 4: 6× platinum
- Agent Provocateur: 3× platinum
- Inside Information: platinum
Rhino also characterized five songs on the collection as Top 10 hits and said “Waiting For A Girl Like You” reached No. 2 while “I Want To Know What Love Is” reached No. 1. Those are chart claims as reported by the label in its 2024 announcement.
