D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2024 brought a Friday entertainment showcase of films and series, followed on Saturday by a slate of proposed parks, cruise-ship and digital projects. The announcements mixed new projects with updates to titles already in development; the dates below are the plans Disney announced at the time, not a guide to what is open or available now.
When and where were the D23 2024 announcements made?
The main showcases took place in Anaheim, California: the entertainment presentation on Friday, August 9, and the Disney Experiences presentation on Saturday, August 10. Daytime event programming was held at the Anaheim Convention Center, with evening showcases at Honda Center. Disney’s July 2024 event announcement also listed D23 events at Disneyland Resort on August 8 and Angel Stadium on August 4, and said the program included more than 230 panels and presentations. Those details describe the 2024 event schedule, not a recurring annual format. The Walt Disney Company’s event announcement
Disney’s Friday recap described a mix of news and progress updates—not a slate made up entirely of newly revealed projects. Its coverage included Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel Television, Lucasfilm and other studios. Disney’s August 10, 2024 entertainment recap
What did Pixar announce or show?
Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter discussed films and series at different stages. Disney said Incredibles 3 was in development, with Oscar-winning filmmaker Brad Bird developing it; the recap did not announce a release date. Dream Productions, a new Disney+ series set in the world of Inside Out, and the new feature Hoppers were also part of the presentation. The projects Toy Story 5, Win or Lose and Elio received attention as part of the broader Pixar slate, but the recap did not characterize each as a new D23 announcement. Disney’s entertainment recap

On Saturday, August 10, then-Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro presented plans for destinations and digital storytelling.
