A July 10, 2018 iMessage export hosted by the U.S. Department of Justice records a brief exchange between Woody Allen and Jeffrey Epstein that jokes about eating hearts and bones. The messages have prompted online discussion, but the text alone does not establish that anyone ate human remains.
What the messages say
The exchange appears in a larger iMessage export identified as EFTA00781921. In the portion at issue, a message attributed to Epstein reads, “He didnt just cause heartburn he ate them,” followed by “Hearts.” Allen replies, “Thanks ;)” and “At least I’m thinner.” Epstein then writes, “Because you also eat the bones providing fiber,” and Allen responds, “I don’t like waste.”

What the record establishes—and what it does not
The export identifies Allen and Epstein as participants and records the text attributed to them. It does not, by itself, establish the full nature of their relationship or verify that the remarks describe a real event. Text about eating hearts or bones is not proof that either man consumed human remains.
