Fallout 76 is an action role-playing game released in 2018. Its setting follows Vault 76 residents as they emerge into West Virginia after a nuclear disaster and begin rebuilding. That premise places the game within the Fallout series’ post-apocalyptic world, but the reported giveaway itself was specifically for an Xbox code.

What is known about the game’s audience
Bethesda’s official Fallout 76 announcement feed, hosted via Steam, reported a milestone of 20 million total players on May 30, 2024. That is a dated cumulative milestone, not a current player count or a measure of how many people are playing now.

Is a collector’s guide required?
No. A secondary source mentions a physical hardcover Fallout 76 Official Collector’s Edition Guide, but it is an optional companion product, not a requirement for claiming a digital code or playing the game. Its current retailer availability has not been verified.
