Rika is closely tied to storing and accessing those copied techniques. Cursed Speech, Sky Manipulation, Dhruv Lakdawalla’s technique and Jacob’s Ladder are examples of copies—not separate innate techniques Yuta was born with. His reverse cursed technique and Domain Expansion are different capabilities, not entries in that copied-technique list.
How does Yuta’s Copy technique work?
Copy is identified as Yuta’s innate cursed technique: it allows him to reproduce another sorcerer’s innate technique. A secondary technique reference describes a condition involving Rika consuming part of the original user’s body; it says the required part can depend on the technique’s strength. The precise rules and exceptions are not established here, so Copy should not be read as proof that Yuta can automatically reproduce any technique he encounters.

The same reference associates Yuta’s access to copied techniques with Rika and says he can chain different copies. Its summary describes a five-minute window when Rika is fully manifested. These are manga mechanics; readers seeking exact conditions should consult the licensed manga rather than treating a brief summary as a complete rulebook.
What does Rika do for Yuta?
Rika is central to Yuta’s connection with his copied techniques, but the story’s later arrangement should not be mistaken for an unchanged continuation of the original curse. The official anime character profile says Yuta lifted the curse on Rika after fighting Geto. Their relationship in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is the origin of that history, while the later Rika connection serves a role in Yuta’s current combat toolkit.
#1 Best Overall
- Comes with secure packaging
- Care instruction: Keep away from fire
- It can be used as a gift
The technique reference describes full manifestation as providing access to copied techniques for five minutes. That is a stated access window, not a claim that every aspect of Yuta’s fighting ability stops when it ends.
Which techniques has Yuta copied?
These examples originate with other characters. Yuta uses them through Copy; they are not all his innate technique.
Rank #2
| Copied technique | Original user | What it does | Yuta’s use and limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cursed Speech | Toge Inumaki | Lets its user issue commands through cursed speech. | In Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta uses a megaphone as a familiar visual example. The technique reference says he can use copied techniques beyond that specific tool form; it does not establish detailed limits for each use. |
| Sky Manipulation | Takako Uro | Manipulates the sky as though it were a surface. | Yuta uses it as a copy. More granular combat mechanics are not established here. |
| Dhruv Lakdawalla’s technique | Dhruv Lakdawalla | A distinct copied technique used in the Sendai Colony battle. | The exact name and shikigami or path mechanics are not established here. |
| Jacob’s Ladder, also described as Technique Extinguishment | Angel, whose vessel is Hana Kurusu | A technique associated with extinguishing cursed techniques. | Yuta uses a copy; this is distinct from Hana’s own use. The precise scope of Yuta’s application is not established here. |
Does Yuta use Cursed Speech?
Yes. Cursed Speech is one of the clearest examples of Yuta copying another sorcerer’s technique: its original user is Toge Inumaki, and Yuta’s megaphone use in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 makes the ability easy to recognize.
What abilities are not copied techniques?
Reverse cursed technique
Yuta can use reverse cursed technique as an advanced healing ability. It belongs in a separate category from Copy and the techniques he borrows; it is not another copied technique in the inventory above.

Domain Expansion
Yuta also uses a Domain Expansion, a domain-based combat ability rather than a copied innate technique. The technique reference available for this overview does not establish its exact name or full mechanics, so those details are best checked against the manga.
Late-manga spoiler: body transfer
In late-manga events, Yuta uses a copied technique to enter Gojo’s body. This is a major plot development, not a routine example of his copied combat arsenal. The available summary does not establish the complete mechanics or all contingencies involved, so a precise account requires the relevant manga chapters.

Where should you read Yuta and Rika’s origin?
Start with Jujutsu Kaisen 0, the prequel manga that tells Yuta and Rika’s origin. Shueisha lists it as a related book on its official series page: Shueisha’s Jujutsu Kaisen books. The official anime character profile also summarizes Yuta’s special-grade status, his connection to Rika and the fact that he later went overseas: Yuta Okkotsu’s official character profile.
