The Television Academy identifies him as the youngest male Emmy acting winner. That record is specifically about male acting winners—not the youngest Emmy winner overall.

ABC News reports that Scott Jacoby had held the youngest male acting-winner record: he was 16 when he won the supporting drama actor award for That Certain Summer in 1973. ABC also reports that Roxana Zal was 14 when she became the youngest Emmy winner overall in 1984. Those are distinct records.
What is Adolescence about?
The Television Academy characterizes Adolescence as “a wrenching drama about a teenager accused of murder and the effects of the accusation on the young man and his family.” Cooper’s win was one of the series’ honors at the 2025 ceremony. The Academy lists awards for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Erin Doherty’s supporting actress performance, Stephen Graham’s lead actor performance, writing by Graham and Jack Thorne, and directing by Philip Barantini.
