Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, visited Western Australia in November 2024 on a literary tour linked to her work with Perth-based Serenity Press. The visit is over, not an upcoming event: PerthNow reported the tour on 2 November 2024, with The West Australian reporting a school visit two days later. The “22-book deal” in the headline refers to an arrangement reported in 2022, following an earlier, separately announced seven-book agreement.
What the Perth visit involved
PerthNow reported a sold-out event at Joondalup Resort on the Friday before its 2 November story. The schedule then listed book signings in Bunbury and Busselton on Saturday, an appearance at Open Books in Mosman Park on Sunday, and Dymocks Hay Street on Monday. These were dates on the 2024 tour, not current event listings. PerthNow’s 2 November 2024 report connected the tour with Fabulous Food Art, which it said was due that month.
The tour followed another Perth literary appearance: in June 2024, PerthNow announced Ferguson as a headliner for the Festival of Fiction at Edith Cowan University’s Joondalup campus on 19 October. The story identified The Gift of Kindness as her latest work at the time, published by Serenity Press. The festival announcement is a separate event from the November signings.
The West Australian also reported Ferguson’s visit to Waikiki Primary School in Rockingham on 4 November 2024. Its account of the school visit adds to the record of her Western Australian tour.

How the seven-book and 22-book deals relate
The figures refer to agreements reported at different times, not one deal counted twice. On 12 February 2020, Serenity Press announced an Australian and New Zealand rights agreement for seven books: five picture books and two young chapter books. The announcement via Reconnect PR describes that initial arrangement.
By May 2022, Kirkus Reviews reported a 22-book deal with Serenity Press. It said at least three of the titles would be young adult novels and named Demon’s Land as the first planned title in that group. Kirkus’s 15 May 2022 report is the source for the later figure. The available accounts do not provide a complete final list of all 22 books or a current release schedule.

Which books were associated with the tour?
For the November 2024 appearances, PerthNow specifically named Fabulous Food Art as due that month. The June event announcement had identified The Gift of Kindness as a recent Serenity Press title. Neither report establishes that Demon’s Land was the central book promoted at the November events.
Demon’s Land is nevertheless a documented Serenity Press title. A Peribo distributor title sheet lists it as a paperback by Sarah Ferguson, ISBN 9780645355987, with a release date of 1 July 2022. The title sheet can help identify the edition, but it does not establish present retailer stock.

What was said about her children’s books
In PerthNow’s November report, Ferguson described the personal inspiration behind her children’s writing: “If I could give little Sarah a book, I would say the most important thing is never, when you grow up, forget little Sarah … and don’t grow up to think you’re very weird because you have red hair,” the Duchess said.

PerthNow’s June 2024 story attributed more than 55 books to Ferguson. That is the publication’s reported figure, not an independently audited bibliography count. Taken together, the sources establish a substantial publishing relationship and several named titles, but they do not give a complete, verified inventory of the 22-book deal, its current schedule, or present availability from retailers. Anyone looking for a particular book should check current listings with a bookseller.
