No reliable evidence shows that Justin Bieber released or sang the viral audio with the line “Lost myself at a ‘Diddy’ party.” CBS News found no record of it in Bieber’s catalog in September 2024, and audio-detection tools and researchers assessed it as likely AI-generated. The reporting did not identify who made it, so the lyric should not be treated as Bieber’s words or proof of a real event.
Is the Justin Bieber “Diddy party” song real?
The audio is real in the sense that a recording circulated online, but it is not documented as a Justin Bieber release. In its September 24, 2024 report, CBS News found no record that Bieber released the track and said it did not appear in his catalog. The viral line is “Lost myself at a ‘Diddy’ party”; it should be described as wording in the circulating audio, not as a verified Bieber lyric.
CBS reported that multiple AI-audio detection tools suggested the recording was likely AI-generated. Stephen Stahl, co-founder of Ai-SPY, told CBS he believed it was possibly AI-generated, while Zohaib Ahmed, CEO and founder of Resemble AI, said his company’s tool found it likely AI-generated. Those assessments support a likely-AI characterization, but do not establish the recording’s creator or prove which tool, if any, was used to make it.
What is known about the audio’s spread?
CBS News reported on September 24, 2024 that one TikTok video featuring the audio had reached 7 million views and that the sound appeared in more than 4,500 TikTok videos. Those are figures from that report, not current view or use counts. CBS said the audio had circulated on TikTok, X and YouTube.

The reporting documents waves of attention in April and September 2024. It does not establish that the claim is trending “this week” in October 2026, so a current-week resurgence should not be assumed from those older figures.
Does the lyric prove Bieber was at a Combs party?
No. A lyric in an unverified recording cannot establish that Bieber attended a particular private event, or that the events described in the lyric happened. Public association is not proof of the song’s story.

Reuters reported on May 16, 2025 that Bieber and Sean “Diddy” Combs had socialized and performed together. Reuters described a 2009 video in which Combs said Bieber would spend the next 48 hours with him; Bieber was 15 at the time. The two also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2011, and Reuters reported they collaborated on a song called “Moments” in 2023. These public details establish an association, not the circumstances of a private party or the truth of the viral lyric.
What did Bieber’s representative say about the separate allegations?
In a statement reported by Reuters on May 16, 2025, Bieber’s representative said: “Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him.” The representative added: “Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve.” This was a statement from Bieber’s representative as reported by Reuters, not a direct on-camera statement by Bieber.

Is the video saying Bieber would testify connected to the song?
No. It was a separate manipulated clip, not evidence about the viral audio. AFP reported on May 16, 2025 that a video appearing to show Bieber saying he was “absolutely gonna testify” had been digitally manipulated from an unrelated April 29, 2022 SiriusXM interview. AFP said the interview transcript did not mention Combs or court testimony, and its reporters covering the trial found no indication Bieber would appear in court.
The two claims are easy to conflate because both invoke Bieber and Combs, but they concern different media: one is an audio track with an unverified lyric; the other is edited interview footage falsely implying a court appearance.

How to check similar claims
- Check release evidence: Look for the track in Bieber’s official announcements or catalog. CBS found no record of this audio as a Bieber release in 2024; that finding is dated and does not certify every later catalog entry.
- Separate detection from identification: An AI detector’s “likely” result is evidence about how audio may have been generated, not proof of who created it.
- Verify the post’s source: Determine whether a viral clip is a song, edited interview footage, or unrelated video. For the testify clip, AFP traced it to the 2022 SiriusXM interview.
- Keep context in proportion: Public appearances or collaboration do not verify a lyric’s account of a private event.
For later catalog context, the Associated Press reported that Bieber released the 21-track album Swag in July 2025 and described its tracklist. That report offers a dated reference point, not a complete check of every release after July 2025.
