Public sources do not establish that Pat Sajak and Vanna White ever dated. White has described Sajak as family, like a brother and a lifelong friend, and said in 2025 that they still see each other and have dinner. Their familiar on-screen chemistry reflects a decades-long partnership, not proof of a romance.
What Vanna White has said about Pat Sajak
White has consistently described their relationship as a close friendship. During Sajak’s final week as host in June 2024, she called him “like a brother” and “a true lifelong friend,” adding that some of her most valued memories were sharing family milestones outside the studio. The Associated Press quoted her tribute: “You’re like a brother to me and I consider you a true lifelong friend who I will always adore.” Associated Press, June 6, 2024
In a November 2023 interview with Good Morning America, White put it simply: “I think of Pat as family and always will.” Good Morning America, November 17, 2023
Are they still friends?
Yes. In an interview published in April 2025, White said of Sajak: “I still see him! We’re friends. We have dinner!” She added, “Yeah, he’s still in my life.” Good Morning America, April 27, 2025

Why viewers may wonder if they were a couple
Sajak and White began working together on Wheel of Fortune in 1982. The Associated Press reported that they had appeared together in more than 8,000 episodes as of June 2024. Decades of working side by side gave them a familiar, relaxed rapport that audiences could read as romantic, but an episode count measures the length of their professional partnership—not the nature of their private relationship.
White has recalled that creator Merv Griffin saw them as a brother-and-sister team. In a Television Academy interview recorded in 2007, she said Griffin believed they worked well together and that audiences would enjoy them as a team, “Kind of like Ken and Barbie.” The comparison described their on-screen pairing, not a romantic relationship.
