No public evidence in the cited coverage shows that a cancer diagnosis changed Shannon Tweed’s relationship with Gene Simmons. The March 2010 report describes a breast cancer scare, not a confirmed diagnosis, and does not say the scare changed their relationship.
What was reported about Shannon Tweed’s health?
A March 16, 2010, RadarOnline report about Tweed and Simmons appearing on The Doctors described Tweed as having revealed a breast cancer scare. It did not report that she had been diagnosed with cancer or describe cancer treatment. The distinction matters: the available account supports saying she experienced a scare, not that she had cancer. RadarOnline’s report is the source for that account.
What did Gene Simmons say?
In the same report, Simmons urged men to encourage the women they care about to prioritize their health and get check-ups. RadarOnline quoted him saying: “The person you care about enough to live with, support and do all this stuff, put pressure on her, make her, (sometimes we all get lax) make her understand her health is every bit as important to you — to her family as to her.” That is evidence of his public message about supporting loved ones’ health; it is not evidence that the scare led to a lasting change in their relationship. Read the report.
Did later events show that the scare changed their relationship?
No cited report connects the 2010 health scare to the couple’s later relationship events. In June 2011, CBS News reported that Tweed was angry with Simmons following an incident involving a photograph of him with two women. The report does not attribute that conflict to the scare. CBS News’ account documents the separate dispute.

Paramount Press Express’ release covers his remarks and the wedding.
