What changes for Danny Reagan in Boston?
Danny’s connection to Blue Bloods is the continuity anchor; his new partner, workplace and surrounding family give the series its Boston identity. He works with Detective Lena Silver, played by Sonequa Martin-Green, and becomes part of the Silver family’s overlapping public-service roles.
| Character | Role in the series | Performer |
|---|---|---|
| Danny Reagan | Detective who joins Boston PD | Donnie Wahlberg |
| Lena Silver | Boston detective and Danny’s partner | Sonequa Martin-Green |
| Mae Silver | District attorney | Maggie Lawson |

| Sean Reagan | Danny’s son | Mika Amonsen |
| Reverend Edwin Peters | Silver family figure | Ernie Hudson |

When does Boston Blue Season 2 premiere?
CBS and Paramount materials list the Season 2 premiere for Friday, October 9, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The announced opening episode involves murders that mirror the Boston Strangler killings, while Danny faces a career-defining promotion and Lena investigates a lead tied to the attack on Detective Rodgers. This is the episode’s promotional synopsis, not a report of real events. The synopsis also says Len Cariou returns as Henry Reagan for the premiere; that is an episode-specific announcement, not evidence that every returning guest performer is a series regular. Paramount+’s show page provides the service’s streaming information.
Where can you watch Boston Blue?
The announced Season 2 premiere airs on CBS. Paramount+ lists the series for on-demand streaming, but when an episode becomes available depends on the viewer’s subscription tier. Check the current listing and plan terms for your account, since the schedule and streaming access can differ.
Who makes Boston Blue?
CBS Studios produces the series. Paramount lists Brandon Sonnier, Brandon Margolis, Donnie Wahlberg, Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed as executive producers. Current press materials have also announced Len Cariou, Marisa Ramirez, Erik King and Ryan Broussard in returns or episodes; those notices should be read as tied to the episodes named, rather than as a declaration that all four are regular cast members.

In an Associated Press interview published October 15, 2025, he said: “To be able to carry on the character of Danny Reagan is a tremendously exciting opportunity with a ton of responsibility and pressure.” Associated Press interview.
