Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation is an isekai anime whose first season, Episode of Heartslabyul, premiered on Disney+ on October 29, 2025. Disney also announced production of two more seasons. Calling it a “breakout,” however, remains a prediction: the official materials cited here do not provide anime viewership or audience figures that establish that status.
What is Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation?
It is an animated adaptation of the comic adaptation of Disney’s Twisted-Wonderland game. Disney describes the game as a school adventure featuring characters inspired by Disney villains. The company credits Yana Toboso with the game’s original concept, main scenario, and character design, and says the anime is based on the comic. Disney’s March 14, 2025 announcement sets out the adaptation and production details.
The first season is titled Episode of Heartslabyul, after the dorm inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Its other-world premise fits the isekai label: a student is transported from his ordinary setting to a magical world.
What is the story of Episode of Heartslabyul?
High school student Yuken suddenly finds himself in Twisted-Wonderland, a world of magic and wonder. He encounters monsters, magicians-in-training, and mysterious incidents, despite having no magic of his own. While trying to find a way home, he becomes involved with the students of Heartslabyul. Disney’s series page and October 28, 2025 series guide describe the premise and first arc.

Who made the anime, and what music does it use?
Disney named Yumeta Company and Graphinica as the animation studios. Takahiro Natori is chief director, Shin Katagai is director, and Yoichi Kato is scriptwriter. Takumi Ozawa is the composer. The series guide identifies the game’s opening song, “Piece of my world,” and “Obedience,” performed by Heartslabyul students, as the ending theme. What is known about seasons 2 and 3?
Disney announced that two further seasons were in production: Episode of Savanaclaw and Episode of Octavinelle. The announcement establishes their production status at the time it was made; it does not give release dates or establish their current completion status. Check Disney+’s current listings for any later schedule updates. Disney’s March 2025 announcement names both seasons.
Does the evidence show that it became a breakout anime?
Not on the basis of the official sources cited here. They establish the series’ premise, production, premiere, and announced continuation, but provide no anime viewership or audience figures demonstrating breakout success. Disney’s announcement mentions awards for the game: Google Play Best of 2020’s Creative Category Grand Prize and a game-category award at the 2020 Twitter Trend Awards. Those are game accolades, not measures of the anime’s performance. “Breakout” is therefore best understood as a prediction in the original headline, not a verified result.
