Standalone Disney+ with ads will cost $12.49 a month, while standalone Disney+ Premium (ad-free) will cost $21.49. Check the exact plan name and renewal date in the account or billing channel you use: Disney says existing subscribers will see the change in a billing cycle on or after October 21, 2026, not necessarily on that calendar date.
How much is Disney+ now?
For U.S. subscribers, the reported new monthly prices vary by plan. CBS News reported the changes on September 23, 2026, attributing them to Disney. The figures below are monthly prices, not introductory offers.

The figures for standalone Disney+ and the Disney+/Hulu options were reported by CBS News; reported bundle pricing and exceptions are also covered by CBS News. The services and ad formats in the bundle names matter: a headline price alone does not show whether a plan includes Hulu or ESPN, or whether it carries ads. Disney’s U.S. plans page lists additional bundle configurations, so the table is not a complete catalog of every offer available.
When does the Disney+ price increase take effect?
Disney’s help-center pricing information says existing subscribers who signed up before the relevant date will encounter the new rate in a billing cycle on or after October 21, 2026. That does not mean every account is charged on October 21: the date depends on the subscriber’s billing cycle. CBS News described the change as immediate for new subscribers and said existing subscribers would see the new rates the following month. For your own charge date, use the renewal date shown in your account or billing partner’s subscription settings.

These dates and prices concern U.S. plans. Disney says third-party billing prices may vary because of platform limitations and country-specific pricing. The Disney+ help center provides pricing and billing context, but the amount shown by your app store, carrier, or other billing partner is the one to verify for your subscription.
Is Disney+ Premium going up?
Yes. The reported U.S. standalone ad-free Disney+ rate rises from $18.99 to $21.49 per month. The ad-supported standalone plan also rises, from $11.99 to $12.49. “Premium” can also appear in bundle names, so do not assume the standalone Premium price applies to a Disney+/Hulu/ESPN Premium bundle. Is my Disney bundle price changing?
It depends on which bundle you have. The ad-supported Disney+/Hulu bundle is reported to remain $12.99 monthly, while the ad-free version increases to $21.99. Disney+/Hulu/ESPN Select prices are reported to rise to $21.99 with ads and $32.99 for Premium; Disney+/Hulu/ESPN Unlimited prices are reported unchanged at $35.99 with ads and $44.99 for Premium. Disney also offers other bundle arrangements, including plans involving HBO Max, so match your account’s exact plan name rather than relying on a general “Disney bundle” label.

- Open the account or subscription settings for the service that bills you. If you pay Disney directly, check your Disney+ account; if you subscribed through an app store, carrier, or another partner, use that provider’s subscription settings.
- Find the full plan name, current monthly amount, and next renewal date. Confirm whether the plan is standalone or bundled, and whether it includes ads.
- Look for any introductory or fixed-term offer and its end date. Disney’s plans page currently displays six-month price-lock offers for Disney+/Hulu bundles; those offers renew at higher monthly prices after six months.
- Read the terms attached to your specific offer before changing or cancelling. Disney says cancellation during the initial six-month period for these offers takes effect at the end of that term; timing can differ after the term ends.
Disney’s plans page shows the available U.S. plan structures and offer terms, but plan availability and platform details can vary by region. A plan change is not guaranteed to reduce the very next bill: Disney’s change-plan help information says charges follow the then-applicable price of the selected plan, and timing can depend on the subscription arrangement. Check the instructions and effective date shown for your account before switching.

How to decide whether to keep or change plans
- Start with the next renewal. Compare the amount and date displayed by your actual billing channel with the reported U.S. prices.
- Compare ad formats. The increase is larger in dollars for standalone ad-free Disney+ than for its ad-supported plan; decide whether avoiding ads is worth the difference to you.
- Count only services you use. A bundle may cost more than standalone Disney+, but its value depends on whether you watch its Hulu or ESPN offerings.
- Account for the offer’s full term. A six-month price lock is not the same as a permanent monthly rate. Compare both the offer price and the renewal price, and note when cancellation takes effect.
