What is Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 8 called?
The episode is titled “The Hashira Unite” and is the eighth episode of the Hashira Training Arc, commonly listed as Season 4 Episode 8. Crunchyroll identifies it as the arc’s season finale. The official English-language anime website gives the title and frames the episode around Kagaya and Muzan’s opposing aims; Crunchyroll’s episode listing also labels it E8. What happens in the Hashira Training Arc finale?
Kagaya confronts Muzan
Muzan arrives at the Ubuyashiki residence on a moonlit night. Kagaya is gravely ill, but he meets Muzan directly and speaks about the long history binding their families and their shared fate. Their encounter sets the episode’s central opposition: Kagaya is resolved to defeat Muzan, while Muzan pursues eternity.
The Ubuyashiki mansion explodes
Kagaya’s home suddenly explodes, injuring Muzan and revealing that the confrontation is part of a plan. Gyomei Himejima and the other Demon Slayers converge on the demon king as the Corps moves to attack. The plan comes at a devastating cost; Kagaya’s sacrifice is part of the trap, not a clean victory over Muzan.

Tamayo joins the attack
Tamayo restrains Muzan with her Blood Demon Art and attacks him with a drug intended to affect demons. The slayers press their assault while Muzan is held. The episode shows the attack beginning, but it does not establish that Tamayo’s drug has defeated him.
Nakime drops the Corps into the Infinity Castle
Nakime uses her biwa and Blood Demon Art to open the Infinity Castle beneath the gathered Demon Slayers. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Genya, Murata, Kanao, the Hashira, and other Corps members fall into the shifting fortress, scattering the fighters across its impossible spaces.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What does the Infinity Castle ending mean?
The ending is a transition into the Infinity Castle confrontation, not the resolution of the battle with Muzan. Kagaya’s trap injures Muzan and gives the Corps an opening; Tamayo’s intervention adds another threat. But Nakime’s castle separates the fighters, and Tanjiro’s vow marks the start of the next stage rather than a final victory. The episode’s cliffhanger is the Corps’ sudden displacement and the prospect of fighting Muzan inside his shifting stronghold.
