Demi Moore said turning 60 felt liberating, and that she felt “more alive and present than ever.” She made the remarks in 2022, before her November 11 birthday—not in a current interview. The comments were reported in connection with her Demi Moore x Andie swimwear collaboration.
What did Demi Moore say about turning 60?
In a July 20, 2022 report on an interview with People, The Independent quoted Moore describing the milestone as a chance to value experience over age: “Not being defined by a number and instead being defined by my experience. You hit 59 and you’re already thinking, ‘Well, I’m going to be 60.’ It feels very liberating.”
She also reflected on how her expectations differed from her grandmother’s example: “When I think of my grandmother at 60, she in a way seemed to be already resigned to being old. But I feel, in so many ways, more alive and present than ever.” The familiar headline phrase, “I feel more alive than ever,” shortens that reported quotation; Moore’s fuller wording included “and present.”
Why did she connect the milestone with feeling alive?
Moore’s comments were a personal reflection on ageing, experience and how she felt at that point in her life. They are not a general finding about how people feel as they age, nor evidence from an ageing study. The reports offer her perspective, not a claim that turning 60 affects everyone in the same way.

What was Demi Moore’s Andie swimwear collaboration?
The 2022 remarks appeared amid coverage of Moore’s collaboration with swimwear brand Andie. The Independent reported that the collection launched on July 7, 2022. In a July 27 report about the collaboration, Harper’s Bazaar quoted Moore describing its intention to combine comfort, confidence and style. She said it was about “changing this idea that women become less desirable as we get older,” and added: “We don’t want to look matronly or not feel sexy.”
Moore described the design goal this way: “So the idea is: How do we make a woman wear something that feels good and playful and sexy that is also creating security and confidence and still has style? That was our goal.” These are her stated aims for the collaboration, not independently tested claims about fit or performance.
When did Moore turn 60?
Moore was 59 when the July 2022 remarks were reported. Harper’s Bazaar gave her 60th birthday as November 11, 2022. The comments therefore belong to that moment in 2022, rather than to a recent interview.
