David Faustino said he and his Married… with Children castmates were paid well while filming but did not receive meaningful residuals afterward. He blamed the arrangement on Fox being a cable network at the time and the show being covered by a cable contract. That is Faustino’s explanation—not a verified account of the contract or each cast member’s payments.

What Faustino said about residuals

In remarks reproduced by Realestate.com.au, which attributes them to NBC Washington, Faustino contrasted his pay during production with what the cast received later:

“We got really screwed over. I mean, the show ‘Married With … Children’ was on for 11 years, and we all made really good money while we were doing it,” Faustino said.

“We made great weekly pay checks, but residuals — we all got screwed over because Fox at the time was not a network, it was a cable network, and so it was under a cable contract.”

“So the show ‘Married With … Children’ has made over a billion dollars, and we didn’t really get a piece of that.”

The original NBC Washington page was inaccessible when reviewed, so the quotation and its attribution here follow Realestate.com.au’s reproduction. The exact contract terms have not been established in the available reporting.

What the claim does—and does not—establish

Faustino’s account is about the difference between weekly compensation while the sitcom was being made and residual payments from later use, such as reruns. It does not disclose the cast’s contracts, payment schedules, or the amount any individual received. Nor does the available evidence confirm that every cast member had identical terms.

Faustino also said the show had made “over a billion dollars.” The report provides no accounting period or definition of that figure. It should be understood as his attributed claim, not as independently verified profit, syndication revenue, or a defined pool of royalties. No independently documented total residual figure or cast-wide payment schedule is established in the reporting cited here.

Why the cable-contract explanation needs qualification

Faustino attributed the outcome to Fox’s status at the time and a cable contract. The available account does not include the contract itself or a legal or accounting analysis confirming how that arrangement affected residuals. It therefore supports what Faustino said about his experience, but not a definitive conclusion about the contract’s provisions or the compensation of other performers.

Revival news is separate from the residuals claim

A June 10, 2026 Us Weekly report said Sony owns the series. In that report, Faustino described signing onto a proposed revival centered on Bud Bundy, with other cast members expected to appear in recurring roles. He said the project stalled after concern that its story was moving too far from the original. This is context about a potential revival, not evidence about residual payments; the project’s status may change.

What is known about the show’s later releases

A collection called the Big Bundy Box was reportedly released in December 2007. That release does not establish current stock or availability, and buying a DVD collection should not be taken to mean that Faustino or the cast receive royalties from a purchase.
