D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event ran in Anaheim from August 9 to 11, 2024. Its Friday entertainment showcase featured trailers, footage, sequel news and project updates; Saturday’s “Horizons: Disney Experiences” presentation focused on parks, cruise ships and other experiences. The announcements below are plans and schedules Disney reported at the event in 2024—not confirmation that every project later opened or kept its announced timing.
What Disney announced at the Friday entertainment showcase
Disney Entertainment’s marquee presentation took place at the Honda Center on Friday, August 9. Disney’s official recaps highlighted a mix of public trailers, footage shown to people in the room, concept art, titles and projects entering development. Those are different kinds of reveals: a title or development announcement is not the same as a trailer or a release confirmation.

The Walt Disney Company’s corporate recap also discussed Zootopia 2, Toy Story 5, Snow White, Agatha All Along, Win or Lose, Dream Productions and Hoppers. The recap highlights these titles but does not establish a complete inventory of everything presented across D23 panels.

What changed in Disney parks and on Disney Cruise Line
Saturday’s “Horizons: Disney Experiences” showcase covered parks, cruise ships and new attractions. Disney Parks Blog described the presentation as including almost 50 announcements. The plans below are selected highlights from that official roundup; the dates are the windows Disney attached to them in 2024.

Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro said at the showcase that the projects were “in active development.” That describes Disney’s position when it presented the plans; it does not independently establish their later status.

How Star Wars connected the film, park and Fortnite news
Star Wars appeared in more than one part of the event. At the entertainment showcase, Disney showed footage from The Mandalorian & Grogu, then described as a 2026 theatrical film. At the Experiences presentation, Lucasfilm announced a planned playable Din Djarin and Grogu element for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, expected around the film’s debut. The event therefore linked a theatrical project with a proposed in-park ride update, though the announcement alone did not confirm a later launch date.
Disney also announced Fortnite characters and skins drawing on Disney Villains, The Incredibles and The Mandalorian, alongside a Doctor Doom Marvel-season trailer. StarWars.com reported three Mandalorian-inspired Fortnite cosmetics available beginning August 12, 2024: IG-11, armored Moff Gideon and a Grogu backpack Back Bling. Lucasfilm’s Star Wars recap also noted that the trailer for LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy was revealed at D23.

What the announcements do—and do not—establish
D23’s official event recaps document what Disney presented or said it planned in August 2024. They do not make every proposed attraction a completed project, and announced release windows can change. For the entertainment showcase, a trailer shown publicly is distinct from footage shown only to attendees; concept art, a title reveal or a project entering development likewise does not mean a finished film is imminent.
The headline figures in Disney’s corporate recap are company-reported context, not independent measurements. In addition to the Moana 2 trailer-view figure above, Disney cited more than $2.7 billion in global box office for Frozen and $2.8 billion combined for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Inside Out 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine. These figures were included as part of Disney’s 2024 event coverage, not as new D23 project announcements.
