Konami announced it during PlayStation’s February 12, 2026 State of Play and has since set its release for October 15, 2026. The official game site lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC/Steam and Nintendo Switch.
What kind of Castlevania game is Belmont’s Curse?
Konami and Evil Empire are developing Belmont’s Curse, with Motion Twin in an advisory role. It is a 2D action-exploration entry built around combat, exploration and Rose Belmont’s growth. Konami describes the gameplay as faster and more fluid; that is the publisher’s description, not a hands-on assessment. Konami’s announcement and the official game site provide the current overview.
Who is Rose Belmont, and when is the story set?
Rose is the daughter of Trevor Belmont, and the game places her in Paris in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Monsters threaten the city, and a mysterious castle is part of the danger she must confront. Konami has described Rose exploring both the streets and the castle.
How does the whip work in combat and exploration?
The Vampire Killer whip returns as both a weapon and a traversal tool. Konami says Rose can swing through areas, reach places that were previously inaccessible and attack enemies from unusual positions. PlayStation’s announcement also confirms additional weapons and abilities, strategic combat, secret chambers and hidden items. Breakable walls may conceal health-restoring meat, giving exploration a practical reward as well as a route to secrets. PlayStation’s gameplay overview outlines these features.
