Let God Sort Em Out is a sharp, emotionally exposed Clipse reunion: Pusha T and Malice still trade intricate, hard-edged verses, but grief, faith and regret now sit alongside the old bravado. Pharrell’s sole production preserves the trio’s familiar chemistry while giving the record room to sound bigger and more varied than a simple return to the past.
Is Let God Sort Em Out any good?
Yes. The album’s strongest reason to exist is not just that Clipse can still rap together; it is that the brothers bring a changed perspective to the partnership. Their verses remain controlled, detailed and full of double meanings, but the record also makes space for grief and spiritual conflict without pretending those subjects neatly resolve the pair’s past or present.
Released July 11, 2025, the 13-song album runs 40 minutes, according to Apple Music. It is Clipse’s first album in about 16 years, following a long stretch in which Pusha T and Malice pursued separate paths. That gap gives the reunion weight, but the record is more engaging when it treats the past as material to wrestle with rather than a sound to reproduce.
Critics have differed on how consistently the album’s choices work. Pitchfork described the comeback as “good,” “different,” and “complicated,” arguing that it works hard to make itself feel necessary. The FADER placed the brothers’ candor and contradictions at the heart of its positive assessment, while objecting to The-Dream’s contribution. The Guardian praised the duo’s chemistry and Pharrell’s production, but considered the large John Legend chorus on the opening track a sonic misstep even as it acknowledged the force of the lyrics. Those are judgments about execution, not a consensus that every guest or arrangement fits.

What changes on this Clipse album?
Grief moves into the foreground
“The Birds Don’t Sing” addresses the brothers’ deceased parents, placing personal loss at the album’s emotional center. John Legend and Voices of Fire appear on the track, whose prominent chorus has divided critics. The contrast is telling: the song’s subject matter is intimate and painful, while its arrangement reaches for a broad, almost ceremonial scale.
Apple Music’s release feature describes the sessions in Paris and quotes Pusha T calling the song “therapeutic, but it was the hardest record to make.” That difficulty is audible in the way the album’s familiar composure meets a subject the brothers cannot reduce to a clever turn of phrase.

Faith complicates the old persona
Malice’s return to Clipse brings an ongoing tension between religious conviction and the group’s history of writing from the perspective of the drug trade. The album does not erase that past or turn faith into a tidy resolution. Instead, spiritual imagery sits beside the braggadocio and moral unease that have long shaped the duo’s work. “So Far Ahead” is one example of that overlap, with religious imagery noted in Apple Music’s feature.
The result is not a clean break from the old Clipse. “So Be It” and “Ace Trumpets,” which The FADER singled out, continue the group’s sinister, densely detailed double-entendre writing. The change is that this language now shares space with reflection on what a life and a history can cost.

Who produced the album, and how does it sound?
Pharrell produced Let God Sort Em Out alone. That makes him more than a link to the duo’s earlier Neptunes-era identity: he is the album’s sole producer, shaping the setting in which the brothers’ renewed partnership unfolds.
The production retains a recognizable Clipse and Neptunes lineage, but it is not simply a reconstruction of an earlier sound. Across the record, Pharrell gives the verses room to carry their intricate writing while allowing for shifts in scale and texture. The larger vocal presence on “The Birds Don’t Sing” is one of the boldest departures, though it is also a choice that will not work for every listener.

Do the guests help the album?
The guest list is substantial, but the features serve different purposes rather than functioning as one uniform attraction. Kendrick Lamar appears on “Chains & Whips,” Tyler, the Creator on “P.O.V.,” Stove God Cooks on “F.I.C.O.,” and Nas on “Let God Sort Em Out/Chandeliers.” John Legend and Voices of Fire join “The Birds Don’t Sing,” while Pharrell also appears on multiple tracks.
Some guests broaden the record’s reach; others have been less persuasive to critics. The FADER, for example, criticized The-Dream’s contribution to “All Things Considered,” and objected to the contrast between that song’s reflective subject matter and Pharrell’s boastful hook. The Guardian’s reservation about the opener’s chorus points to a related risk: a guest or a larger arrangement can amplify the emotion, but it can also pull attention away from the brothers’ own voices.

“Chains & Whips” has also drawn attention beyond its musical feature. A Recording Academy feature connected Kendrick Lamar’s verse with label tensions surrounding the release. That account is a source-specific framing, not a complete history of the industry disputes; the song can be heard as part of the album without treating that explanation as the final word on its context.
Is the full album available on vinyl?
Clipse’s official store and Roc Nation store document gatefold black-vinyl LP editions with all 13 tracks, including “So Be It” and “P.O.V.” That does not establish the current stock status of every listing or prove that every pressing carries the same tracklist. Check the track listing for the specific edition before buying, especially if the seller’s copy is an early or alternate pressing.
What recognition has the album received?
The Recording Academy announced five 2026 Grammy nominations for Clipse, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Album for Let God Sort Em Out. The announcement establishes nomination status; it does not, by itself, establish the outcomes of the awards.
