The first trailer for the live-action Masters of the Universe film sets up Prince Adam’s return to Eternia and a showdown with Skeletor. Trailer coverage published January 22, 2026, describes Adam as a child sent to Earth for protection who later finds the magic sword and returns home with Teela.
What the trailer reveals about the story
Ars Technica describes the trailer as an origin story: Adam grows up on Earth after being sent there as a child, then returns to Eternia with Teela after finding the magic sword. The trailer coverage says the sword’s power becomes central to Adam’s fight against Skeletor; that is the setup presented in the trailer, not an independently confirmed full-film synopsis.
