NBC canceled Suits LA after one season, and no second season was announced. The cancellation was reported on May 9, 2025; the season-one finale, scheduled for May 18, became the series finale. NBC said it did not see enough potential for the show to grow.
What happened to Suits LA?
Suits LA was a legal drama set in the world of Suits, following Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who represented powerful clients in Los Angeles. The series was created by Aaron Korsh, creator of the original show, and starred Stephen Amell, with Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt and Bryan Greenberg. Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman and David Costabile appeared as performers from the original series. Variety reported the cancellation and series details on May 10, 2025.
NBC announced the series’ premiere for February 23, 2025, with episodes available on Peacock the following day. That was the launch arrangement announced in 2025, not confirmation of the show’s current streaming availability. NBCUniversal’s announcement gives the original premiere information.
When was it canceled, and what is the series finale?
TVLine reported NBC’s decision on May 9, 2025, before the season’s final episode aired. The finale was scheduled for May 18 and became the series finale, leaving the story with one season rather than a planned second. TVLine’s cancellation report identifies the finale date and the decision’s timing.

Why did NBC cancel the show?
NBC’s stated reason was that the series was not showing enough potential to grow. On a May 15, 2025 press call, programming planning strategy president Jeff Bader said, “It’s just not really showing the potential to grow for us in the future.” TheWrap reported that NBC reviewed performance week to week and episode by episode across linear and digital viewing, alongside creative factors. The explanation points to the network’s assessment of the show’s prospects; it does not establish one isolated cause. TheWrap’s account of NBC’s explanation includes Bader’s comments and the reported decision process.

Variety also reported that the show made only a small dent in ratings and received mostly negative reviews on debut, but that is trade-press context rather than NBC’s stated rationale.

In a later interview account published by The Daily Beast in March 2026, lead actor Stephen Amell reflected that he had not found a performance approach for Ted Black that could smooth over the show’s issues and give it a chance to continue.
