Why Diaz returned to acting
Netflix described Back in Action as Diaz’s first film in almost a decade. In a January 24, 2025 interview with Krista Smith for Netflix’s Skip Intro, Diaz reflected on the importance of choosing whom she worked with: “If I haven’t done a film in 10 years, if I’m going to go back to doing what I really was happy stepping away from, then who I do it with is really, really important.” Read the Netflix Tudum interview.

In comments on The Graham Norton Show reported by Sky News on January 18, 2025, Diaz said of her break: “Oh my God, I loved it. It was the best 10 years of my life.” She also said returning made sense for her family. Those remarks offer personal context for the hiatus and return, not evidence about her earnings. What is known about her work outside films
A 2022 CBS News profile covered Diaz’s wine business, Avaline, but it does not provide a current income figure or establish current partner-program terms. It is evidence of business activity at that time, not a basis for calculating her present annual income. CBS News profile.
