Bravo denied an April 2024 report that Andy Cohen was negotiating an exit package, calling the story “absolutely” untrue. The allegation came from an unnamed source cited by In Touch Weekly; it was not established as fact. NBCUniversal later announced that Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen was renewed through 2027, a useful update for readers finding the old rumor today.

What did Bravo say about Andy Cohen leaving?

A Bravo spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly: “There is absolutely no truth to this story in that tabloid, obviously made up by a source who is not credible.” Yahoo Entertainment relayed the statement in its April 18, 2024 report: Yahoo Entertainment’s report on the denial.

The statement was issued by a Bravo spokesperson, not by a named Bravo executive or Cohen himself. Yahoo reported that Cohen’s representative declined further comment. The denial addresses the exit-package story; it is not a ruling on the separate allegations that formed part of the report’s background.

Where did the exit-package rumor come from?

Yahoo’s account said In Touch Weekly reported that Cohen was negotiating a departure package amid controversy and falling ratings. The claim was attributed to an unnamed source. The available account does not establish that negotiations took place, and the unnamed-source allegation and Bravo’s denial are distinct accounts rather than independently verified proof of what happened.

What controversies were mentioned in the report?

The rumor’s coverage referred to allegations involving Leah McSweeney and Brandi Glanville. They should be understood as allegations and responses, not findings.

Leah McSweeney’s lawsuit

Yahoo reported that McSweeney sued Cohen and Bravo in February 2024. Cohen denied the allegations, according to Yahoo’s account. The denial of the exit rumor does not resolve that lawsuit or establish the truth of its claims.

Brandi Glanville and the video

Yahoo also summarized Glanville’s allegations and Cohen’s response. It reported that Cohen apologized for a video he sent to Glanville while maintaining that the exchange was a joke. That response is Cohen’s account; it should not be treated as a finding about the allegations.

What happened after the 2024 rumor?

NBCUniversal later announced that Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen was renewed through 2027. The announcement described Cohen as host and executive producer of that program, and as an executive producer for The Real Housewives franchise: NBCUniversal’s renewal announcement.

The renewal is later, official context about the show and Cohen’s stated roles. It does not disclose every detail of his employment arrangements, and it should not be read as evidence about whether the reported negotiations occurred in April 2024. Yahoo also reported Cohen saying at BravoCon in November 2023, “Next year is my 20th year at Bravo.” That was a statement about his tenure at the time, not current evidence of contractual status.
