Bonnie Blue, whose legal name is Tia Billinger, was deported from Indonesia in December 2025 over immigration and traffic violations. Indonesian police said no pornography-related criminal charge was filed because the private video material found by investigators had not been distributed. The widely reported possibility of up to 15 years in prison came from an earlier, conditional report—not a sentence or the final reported outcome.
What happened in the Bali case
On 9 December 2025, ITV reported that Blue had been arrested after an allegation that adult content was filmed in Bali, and said she could face up to 15 years if charged and convicted. That was an early account of possible exposure, not a court finding or confirmation that a pornography charge had been filed. ITV News reported the conditional 15-year figure on 9 December.
Ngurah Rai Immigration’s statement on 11 December said authorities suspected the group had worked while in Indonesia on visit-on-arrival visas intended for tourism. That was the immigration agency’s allegation about their status and activity. Ngurah Rai Immigration’s statement described the initial enforcement action.
Why the 15-year headline needs context
The 15-year figure circulated in early coverage as a possible maximum if a pornography offense were charged and proved. It should not be read as the sentence Blue received, a conviction, or proof that prosecutors filed that charge. On 13 December, Indonesian National Police said no criminal charges related to pornography were filed because the material found was not distributed. The police account reported the later outcome.

Indonesia’s government legal database lists Law No. 44 of 2008 on Pornography as in force, while noting that it has been partially revoked by Law No. 1 of 2023 and identifying Article 29 among affected provisions. That status information does not, by itself, establish how every provision or penalty would apply to the facts in this case. The official legal database entry for Law No. 44 of 2008 provides the statute’s status and metadata.

Police said private video material was found on a phone but had not been distributed, and that no pornography-related charge was filed. Their 13 December report said Blue was deported to the United Kingdom for immigration and traffic-law violations; it also said the four foreign nationals involved were barred from re-entering Indonesia. The Indonesian National Police report describes that reported disposition. Ngurah Rai Immigration’s later statement also linked deportation to alleged misuse of residence permission and traffic violations. The immigration office’s later statement.

ANTARA reported that the matter was handled as minor offenses involving traffic and public order, and that the video was private material and was not made in Bali. Those are details in ANTARA’s reporting, not a court’s finding. ANTARA’s follow-up report provides that account.
Quick Recap
What the case does—and does not—establish
- Established in the reported outcome: Police said no pornography-related criminal charge was filed; Blue was deported over immigration and traffic violations.
- Not established: That Blue was convicted or sentenced under Indonesia’s Pornography Law, or that the early 15-year figure became a penalty imposed in court.
- Legal context: The government database records amendments to the 2008 law, but the cited material does not provide a complete individualized legal analysis of the provisions or their application to this case.
