The Irish Independent’s Rich List put Brenda Salters and her family’s wealth at €150 million in 2018 and €156 million in 2019. These are historical estimates connected to the family’s ownership of SHS Group—not a verified current figure for Salters’s personal net worth.
What figures were reported for Brenda Salters?
| Rich List year | Reported amount | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|
| 2018 | €150 million | The Irish Independent’s estimate for Brenda Salters and her family; its profile also listed €135 million for 2017. Irish Independent, 15 January 2018. |
| 2019 | €156 million | The Irish Independent’s estimate for Brenda Salters and her family; its profile also listed €150 million for 2018. Irish Independent, 25 January 2019. |
The €6 million difference between the two headline figures is a difference between published estimates. The profiles do not provide a detailed valuation method, so it should not be read as a measured increase in Salters’s individual wealth.
Why was her family wealth linked to SHS Group?
The Irish Independent described SHS Group as a Belfast distributor co-founded by Salters’s late husband, Geoff. The 2018 profile said Brenda Salters and her family owned 50% of the group. The 2019 profile said they assumed control of just over half of the business in 2009, after Geoff’s death.
The 2019 profile also reported a £9 million (€10.1 million) dividend paid to shareholders in the year it described, alongside a small increase in profits. That is company and shareholder context; it does not establish how much, if any, Salters personally received.
