S4: The Bob Lazar Story is a 2026 documentary about Lazar’s account of working at a secret facility he calls S-4. It presents his story; the available reporting does not independently confirm his alleged employment there or his claims about alien technology.
What is the new S4 film?
S4: The Bob Lazar Story is a 1-hour-and-54-minute documentary directed by Luigi Vendittelli and Christopher Matteau, according to its Prime Video listing. The film revisits Lazar’s account of allegedly working at S-4, a facility he says was involved in studying an alien craft.
What does Bob Lazar say he did at S-4?
Lazar says he worked on the propulsion system of an alleged alien craft at S-4. That is his account, not an independently established description of the facility or its work. Forbes describes Lazar as a self-proclaimed physicist and reports that researchers have been unable to confirm his education or his alleged employment at Area 51. The article also says he has provided no evidence of alien life or technology, and that the U.S. government has not verified the alien claims.
Does the documentary verify Lazar’s story?
No independent confirmation of Lazar’s alleged S-4 employment or alien technology is established in the reporting about the film. Forbes reporter Jim Clash’s April 6, 2026 interview, updated April 11, presents the account as Lazar’s perspective and flags claims that cannot be independently confirmed. A documentary can convey a witness’s account and recreate its setting without corroborating the events it depicts.

Why does Lazar say he felt back in S4?
Lazar described the film’s 3-D environment as a vivid experience: “When they put that headset on me and I walked around, I did feel like I was back at S4.” That is his recollection of experiencing the film’s recreation, not evidence that the events he describes took place.
