After Donald Trump won the 2024 U.S. presidential election, Billie Eilish, Jack White, Cardi B and other artists shared sharply different reactions online. Eilish posted, “It’s a war on women,” while White condemned the result and Cardi B expressed anger before later praising Kamala Harris. These examples were reported on November 6–7, 2024; they are a selection, not a complete record of artists’ responses.
Billie Eilish’s short reaction
Pitchfork and Rolling Stone UK reported that Eilish wrote “It’s a war on women” on her Instagram Story after Trump’s victory. The brief post reflected her reaction to the result; it was not a report of a specific policy change. Pitchfork and Rolling Stone UK covered the statement on November 7, 2024.

Jack White criticized Trump and the outcome
White criticized Trump in an Instagram post, writing, “It’s absolutely dumbfounding that this con man succeeded in pulling the wool over so many Americans eyes not once, but twice,” according to Rolling Stone UK. The remark expresses White’s judgment of Trump and the election result. White also voiced fears about what Trump might do; those were predictions and concerns, not established future actions.
Cardi B paired anger with praise for Harris
Cardi B’s responses addressed both the result and Harris. Rolling Stone UK reported her immediate posts expressing anger after Trump’s win. Pitchfork reported a separate message to Harris praising her honesty and integrity and saying she had shown her daughters and women that anything was possible. Cardi B wrote, “No one has ever changed my mind and you did!”

After the election, a claim circulated online that Eilish was leaving the United States. In a November 22, 2024 fact-check, PolitiFact reported that she had made no such announcement and found no credible news reports supporting the claim. PolitiFact’s fact-check distinguishes that unsupported claim from Eilish’s documented reaction to the election.
