What did Jon Stewart say afterward?
The Daily Show published an official video on June 27 titled “Jon Stewart’s Debate Analysis: Trump’s Blatant Lies and Biden’s Senior Moments.” Its description says Stewart went live after the CNN debate to discuss Biden’s senior moments and Trump’s blatant lies. That establishes the subject of the video’s framing, but the title and description are not a transcript or verbatim quotations from Stewart.
Did Stewart call Biden’s debate performance months earlier?
The available sources do not establish that he did. They document Stewart’s immediate post-debate response, but do not provide a primary source for an earlier segment, its date, or the words he used. Without that evidence, it is not possible to confirm what Stewart said months before the debate or whether it amounted to a prediction.

How should Biden’s delivery be separated from the debate’s substance?
A candidate’s fluency and presentation are different questions from whether their claims are accurate, whether they answer the questions asked, and what policies they support. FactCheck.org’s June 28 review examined claims by both candidates and characterized the debate as featuring false and misleading statements from both. It assessed subjects including Social Security, taxes, jobs, immigration, abortion, inflation, and the economy; its article was corrected on August 9, 2024.
For example, FactCheck.org found that both candidates were wrong on Social Security. It said Trump misleadingly took credit for lowering insulin costs for seniors, while Biden signed a law capping costs for seniors with Medicare drug coverage. It also found no support for Trump’s claim that Biden proposed raising taxes fourfold. These findings address specific claims, not the candidates’ overall performance.

Employment comparisons require care about the baseline: comparing with the pandemic-era drop produces a different picture from comparing with the pre-pandemic peak. FactCheck.org reported, using Bureau of Labor Statistics figures, that total nonfarm employment in May 2024 was about 6.2 million above the February 2020 pre-pandemic peak. That is context for a jobs claim, not a measure of debate performance.
