Liv Morgan has the strongest case as WWE’s best main-roster women’s wrestler of 2024: she won the Women’s World Championship, retained it against Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam, and became the first Women’s Crown Jewel Champion. Bayley, Ripley, IYO SKY, Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch also had substantial cases, depending on how much weight you give to title wins, major events and outside recognition.
This is an editorial ranking of WWE’s main-roster performers from January 1 through December 31, 2024; comparable NXT evidence is not included. “Best” is not an official WWE designation. The order weighs documented championship accomplishments and major-event results, with award recognition as supporting context. The available results do not provide a complete, comparable win-loss or match-quality record for every wrestler.
Who was the best female wrestler in WWE in 2024?
1. Liv Morgan ranks first on the strength of the year’s clearest sequence of major championship results. WWE’s May 25 King and Queen of the Ring results record her defeating Becky Lynch for the Women’s World Championship. At SummerSlam, Morgan retained against Rhea Ripley, according to WWE’s August 3 results. In November, she defeated Nia Jax to become the first Women’s Crown Jewel Champion, as recorded on WWE’s Crown Jewel 2024 page.
Morgan’s case rests on those outcomes, not on an asserted statistical lead: a complete 2024 record across all the candidates is not established here. WWE’s profile also describes her return and “Liv Morgan Revenge Tour,” but the championship results are the firmer basis for placing her at the top.

How the leading contenders compare
The next five each have a distinct claim to a top spot. The table separates the documented 2024 milestones from outside recognition; PWI’s ranking uses a different evaluation window than the calendar year covered here.
| Rank | Wrestler | Documented 2024 case | Recognition and context |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | Rhea Ripley | She was on the winning women’s WarGames team at Survivor Series. | A WWE Slammy Female Superstar of the Year nominee; No. 3 in PWI’s 2024 Women’s 250 as reported by Sports Illustrated. |
| 3 | Bayley | She defeated IYO SKY at WrestleMania XL to win the WWE Women’s Championship and later joined the winning WarGames team. | A Slammy nominee; No. 7 in PWI’s 2024 Women’s 250 as reported by Sports Illustrated. |
| 4 | IYO SKY | She lost the WWE Women’s Championship to Bayley at WrestleMania XL and was on the winning WarGames team. | A Slammy nominee. |
| 5 | Bianca Belair | She was on the winning WarGames team and, with Jade Cargill, retained the Women’s Tag Team Championship at Crown Jewel. | A Slammy nominee. |
| 6 | Becky Lynch | She challenged for the Women’s World Championship and lost the title match to Morgan in May. | A Slammy nominee. |
2. Rhea Ripley
Ripley combines a high-profile published ranking with a major team victory. Sports Illustrated’s account of PWI’s 2024 Women’s 250 places her at No. 3, and WWE’s Survivor Series results record her on the winning women’s WarGames team. That makes her one of the strongest alternatives to Morgan, though the documented milestones here do not establish a comparable individual title run across the calendar year.

3. Bayley
Bayley’s defining result came at WrestleMania XL, where she beat IYO SKY to win the WWE Women’s Championship. WWE’s full WrestleMania results document the title change. She was also on the winning WarGames team. PWI placed her at No. 7 in its 2024 Women’s 250, as reported by Sports Illustrated.
4. IYO SKY
IYO SKY’s year includes both losing the WWE Women’s Championship to Bayley at WrestleMania XL and joining the winning WarGames team at Survivor Series. The WrestleMania result makes her title loss part of Bayley’s case, but it does not erase her own major-event contribution later in the year.

5. Bianca Belair
Belair had two documented team accomplishments: she was part of the victorious women’s WarGames team, and she and Jade Cargill retained the Women’s Tag Team Championship at Crown Jewel. WWE’s Crown Jewel page records the tag-title defense. Her Slammy nomination adds evidence of fan-award recognition, not a separate performance ranking.
6. Becky Lynch
Lynch’s inclusion is supported by her Slammy nomination and the championship match with Morgan in May. She lost that match, so the result is a stronger milestone for Morgan; the nomination nevertheless puts Lynch among the five performers WWE recognized in its Female Superstar of the Year fan-award category.

Other title cases: Nia Jax and Jade Cargill
Nia Jax belongs in the discussion because she won the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, then lost to Morgan at Crown Jewel. Those results give her a meaningful championship case even though the evidence cited here does not support placing her above the six ranked performers.
Jade Cargill has a documented tag-team accomplishment: she and Belair retained the Women’s Tag Team Championship at Crown Jewel. That title defense is relevant, but the available milestones do not establish a comparable individual championship case for her in this ranking.

What the awards and rankings do—and do not—show
WWE’s Slammys were nominations, not a ranking
WWE’s 2024 Slammys announcement named Ripley, Belair, Bayley, IYO SKY and Lynch as Female Superstar of the Year nominees. WWE described the Slammys as fan-choice awards. The list identifies nominees; it is not an ordered ranking, does not name a winner in the cited announcement and does not include every candidate considered here.
PWI’s Women’s 250 covered a different period and promotions
Sports Illustrated’s October 15, 2024 report says PWI evaluated wrestlers for its Women’s 250 from October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024, considering in-ring achievement, influence, technical ability, quality of competition and activity. It reports Toni Storm at No. 1, Ripley at No. 3 and Bayley at No. 7 in the top ten. PWI’s Holiday 2024 issue page describes the publication as the Women’s 250 edition and also identifies Storm as No. 1.
Because that list spans promotions and ends three months before calendar 2024 does, it offers useful context rather than a direct answer to who was best in WWE over the full year. Its placements should not be treated as WWE standings or as a complete measure of 2024 performance.
