Tiffany Stratton’s Prettiest Moonsault Ever is the best WWE finisher of 2025 by a practical editorial standard: it is distinctive, visually memorable, and WWE’s official reports document it deciding both a major tag match and a championship defense. That is a reasoned pick, not an official WWE ranking or a measured comparison of win rates.
How this ranking judges a finisher
WWE has not published a comprehensive 2025 ranking or standardized success-rate dataset for finishers. This list is therefore an editorial assessment based on three questions: did the move deliver a decisive payoff in a documented major match, is it distinctive and recognizable, and did the match sequence build anticipation or surprise? The cited WWE event reports establish what happened in those matches; the ranking itself is subjective.
The best WWE finishers of 2025
| Rank | Finisher | Wrestler | Documented 2025 payoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Prettiest Moonsault Ever | Tiffany Stratton | Decided the Elimination Chamber tag match and Stratton’s SummerSlam Saturday title defense. |
| 2 | GTS | CM Punk | Two GTSes defeated Gunther and won Punk the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam Saturday. |
| 3 | Split-Legged Moonsault | Naomi | Pinned IYO SKY to win the Women’s World Championship at Evolution. |
| 4 | Riptide | Rhea Ripley | Featured in the Evolution title match and an Avalanche version at SummerSlam Sunday, though neither sequence ended those matches. |
| 5 | Stunner | Kevin Owens | Hit during the Elimination Chamber unsanctioned match, but did not end it. |
1. Prettiest Moonsault Ever — Tiffany Stratton
Stratton’s move takes the top spot because its identity is easy to recognize and its 2025 record in the cited major-match examples pairs spectacle with decisive results. WWE’s Elimination Chamber results say the Prettiest Moonsault Ever secured the tag-match win. The SummerSlam Saturday results also report that Stratton used it to retain her title against Jade Cargill. Two documented payoffs give this pick a stronger case than a move supported here by only one notable finish.
2. GTS — CM Punk
The GTS earns its place for a championship-winning payoff and a match sequence that made the finish feel consequential. At SummerSlam Saturday, Punk hit Gunther with the GTS twice to win the World Heavyweight Championship, after a prolonged back-and-forth, according to WWE’s event report. The two-hit sequence and title change make it one of the year’s clearest examples of a finisher closing a major story beat.

3. Split-Legged Moonsault — Naomi
Naomi’s Split-Legged Moonsault delivered one of the year’s most significant documented outcomes: she pinned IYO SKY with it to win the Women’s World Championship at Evolution. WWE’s Evolution results describe the title-changing sequence. The move’s place here rests on that decisive championship payoff, not on an assumption that it wins every time.
4. Riptide — Rhea Ripley
The Riptide is a strong example of why a finisher’s impact cannot be judged by its name or execution alone. At Evolution, Ripley hit a Riptide in the title match, but the referee was down and there was no count. At SummerSlam Sunday, WWE’s results report describes Ripley hitting an Avalanche Riptide before Naomi later won by roll-up. Those moments build the move’s presence in the match, but do not count as decisive finishes.

5. Stunner — Kevin Owens
Owens’s Stunner makes the list as a reminder that a familiar signature move does not automatically end a bout. WWE’s Elimination Chamber report says he hit a Stunner during the unsanctioned match, which continued. The same report later describes Randy Orton hitting an RKO on Owens after the match had ended. The contrast shows why match context and timing matter alongside a finisher’s recognizability.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why this is not a win-rate ranking
The event reports document specific match outcomes, not every use of every WWE finisher during 2025. They cannot establish which move had the highest success rate, and a spectacular or title-changing example does not prove that a finisher always wins. The ranking weighs documented payoff, distinctiveness, and match presentation rather than claiming statistical superiority.
