After Ben Cousins and dance partner Siobhan Power were eliminated from the 2024 Dancing with the Stars semi-final, they reunited on the dance floor at a local celebration in Innaloo. At a Mix94.5-hosted party at Varsity Bar, the pair performed the Cha Cha Cha live for radio listeners.
What happened at the Innaloo party?
Mix94.5’s Pete & Kymba hosted an intimate finals party for 150 radio listeners at Varsity Bar in Innaloo on Sunday night, according to PerthNow’s 12 August 2024 report. Guests watched Cousins’ semi-final performance. After his elimination, he and Power performed the Cha Cha Cha live and greeted supporters.
The party was a local gathering after the semi-final, not part of the televised grand finale. TV Tonight’s recap of the 2024 finalists also records Cousins and Power among those eliminated before the grand finale.
How did Cousins score in the semi-final?
PerthNow reported that Cousins scored 17 out of 40 for his Argentine tango in the semi-final. The report contrasted that result with Samantha Jade’s 39. The 17/40 figure refers to Cousins’ Argentine tango—not the Cha Cha Cha he later performed at Varsity Bar.

What did Cousins and Power say?
Reflecting on learning to dance, Cousins told PerthNow: “If I knew what I know now, I would have started dancing in my childhood!” He added: “I would still be playing footy, but I would be dancing as well — one hundred per cent!”
Power described his determination during rehearsals: “Ben just put in the work, he just wanted to nail it,” she said. “If something wasn’t working at the start, he would say, ‘We’re not leaving until I get this!’” Cousins also said: “Things are in a good space now. Life is good!”
