Yes: Arcane ends with its second season. Netflix calls it the series’ “second and final season,” and co-creator Christian Linke says the story wraps up there. But Linke also says Riot wants to tell more stories in Runeterra, the wider world of League of Legends. That is an expression of intent—not confirmation of a sequel, a release date, or a particular project.
Is Arcane season 2 the last season?
Yes. Netflix describes season two as Arcane’s “second and final season,” and says both seasons are streaming now. The show’s story is intended to conclude with season two.

In a League Dev Update statement carried by Netflix, co-creator Christian Linke explained: “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of ARCANE wraps up with this second season.” Riot’s biography identifies Linke as Head of Animation Studio and says he co-created and served as showrunner for Arcane.
Will there be more stories set in Runeterra?
Possibly. Linke’s statement continues: “But ARCANE is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.” It draws a clear distinction between the end of Arcane and Riot’s broader ambition for stories in the setting.

That ambition does not confirm a named follow-up. The available announcements do not identify the next series or project, its platform or format, or when it might arrive. Riot said Arcane season two was in production in a November 22, 2021 announcement; that historical update does not establish the current status of any later Runeterra project.
What is Arcane and how does it fit into Runeterra?
Arcane is an animated series based on Riot Games’ League of Legends. Netflix identifies Christian Linke and Alex Yee as co-creators and says the series was produced by Fortiche Production in partnership with Riot Games. The series’ conclusion therefore does not, by itself, mean the broader setting or its potential stories are finished.

What recognition has Arcane received?
Netflix Media Center reports that Arcane received four Primetime Emmy Awards and nine Annie Awards, as well as Best Adaptation at The Game Awards in 2022. Netflix says its Emmy wins included Outstanding Animated Program, which it describes as a first for a streaming series.
