Which Fallout creatures are in the TV show? Season 1 features the Yao Guai, Gulper and Radroaches, while its finale offers a glimpse of a Deathclaw skull—not a confirmed living Deathclaw. Bethesda’s official Season 2 companion discusses Deathclaws and Radscorpions in the show. The series reuses creatures from the games in a new story, rather than retelling a game plot.
Season 1: creatures adapted from the games
Yao Guai
The bear-like Yao Guai is a direct game-to-screen adaptation. VFX studio Framestore says it designed the creature concept for the series and identifies the Yao Guai as an established Fallout game creature. The production detail helps explain how the show could preserve its imposing shape while making it move naturally: animation supervisor Thiago Martins said, “For the Yao Guai, the key was to develop a rig that could accommodate both quadrupedal movement and bipedal actions, ensuring that the creature’s movements remained fluid and natural across different sequences.” Framestore’s production account
Gulper
The Gulper is another established game creature with a clear production link. Framestore says its art department designed the concept for the show, making this more than a resemblance noted by viewers: the production source explicitly connects the TV creature to the game design. Framestore’s production account
Radroaches
Season 1 coverage identifies Radroaches among the familiar game creatures seen in the series. They are a recognizable wasteland threat carried over from the games, though the available coverage does not provide a complete scene-by-scene guide to their appearances. Deathclaw: a skull, not a living creature
A Deathclaw skull appears briefly in the Season 1 finale, according to the same roundup. That is a visual tease and an unmistakable game reference, but it is not evidence that a living Deathclaw appears in Season 1. Sideshow’s Season 1 Easter-egg roundup
Season 2: Deathclaws and Radscorpions
Bethesda’s official Season 2 companion discusses Lucy’s encounters with Deathclaws and Radscorpions, supporting their inclusion as creatures encountered in the show’s second season. These are distinct from the Deathclaw skull glimpse in Season 1: Bethesda’s Season 2 material refers to encounters with the creatures, not merely a skull or prop. Bethesda’s Season 2 companion

Why game creature lists are not a TV census
Bethesda also points readers to related Fallout 4 gameplay featuring Deathclaws, Radscorpions, Yao Guai and Mirelurks. That list describes creatures available in the game context; it does not confirm that every one appears in Season 2. Mirelurks and Yao Guai are useful comparisons when discussing the wider game bestiary, but should not be counted as confirmed Season 2 sightings on that basis alone. Bethesda’s Season 2 companion
The show uses familiar creatures in a new story
Bethesda describes the series as a new story set in the Fallout universe, rather than a direct retelling of a game plot. That distinction matters: familiar creatures such as the Yao Guai and Gulper can carry their game identity into the series without the show reproducing the game’s scenes or narrative. How to read the creature references
- Production-confirmed game adaptations: Framestore identifies the Yao Guai and Gulper as established game creatures and describes its design work on both.
- Reported onscreen appearance: Season 1 coverage names Radroaches.
- Skull or prop glimpse: Season 1’s Deathclaw reference is a skull, not a living Deathclaw appearance.
- Official Season 2 encounter references: Bethesda discusses Deathclaws and Radscorpions.
- Game-only comparison: A creature appearing in Bethesda’s Fallout 4 gameplay list is not, by itself, proof of a TV appearance.
The available sources establish these examples, not a definitive count of every creature Easter egg across the series. No total should be inferred from the list above.
