Absolute Batman #20, released May 13, 2026, brought the Robin reveal teased earlier that year: later coverage describes multiple Robins in the issue, including Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, and Duke Thomas. That makes “the Absolute Robins” more accurate than treating the reveal as one new sidekick.
What did Absolute Batman #20 reveal?
The news began with a partially redacted cover and solicitation for Absolute Batman #20. The solicitation said, “As the dust settles in the city of Gotham after the loss of [redacted], [redacted] enter the scene ready to hunt, and more than one secret will be revealed in this seminal issue.” Because the teaser concealed key details, it should not be used to infer the redacted names or story events. DC Comics News reported on the redacted cover and solicitation on March 10, 2026.

At MegaCon 2026, writer Scott Snyder described a planned design reveal: “We have a big reveal coming also,” and “The R is going to drop away, and you’re going to see the designs of what we’re thinking for Robin.” Popverse reported Snyder’s remarks on March 28, 2026. These were comments about the then-forthcoming reveal; the issue has since been published.
Which characters are identified as the Absolute Robins?
September 2026 coverage of the issue names Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, and Duke Thomas among the Absolute Robins. ComicBook.com’s September 27, 2026 report describes multiple Robins, rather than a single new character. The report does not establish that all five share the same role, allegiance, costume, or relationship to Batman; those details should be taken from the comic itself.

When did the Robin reveal arrive?
Absolute Batman #20 was scheduled to go on sale May 13, 2026, according to Popverse’s MegaCon report. That date is in the past. The Robin reveal is therefore an event in a published issue, not an upcoming debut.

ComicBook.com also reported that Absolute Batman #24 made Barbara Gordon “the Bat” and called her the first official member of the Absolute Bat-Family. That is a separate development from the #20 Robin reveal. It offers context for the series’ reworking of familiar identities, but does not establish which Robins become Batman’s allies.
