Timothée Chalamet did not directly confirm that he is the masked UK rapper EsDeeKid when asked about the rumor on December 11, 2025. Eight days later, he appeared alongside EsDeeKid in a remix video for “4 Raws,” a concrete collaboration that brought the speculation into sharper focus without establishing anything beyond what the video shows.
What did Chalamet say about the EsDeeKid rumor?
During a December 11, 2025, interview with Heart Radio in the UK, Chalamet was asked about speculation that he was EsDeeKid. Billboard Canada reported that he first replied, “I’ve got no comment,” then added, “I’ve got two words on that. All will be revealed in due time.”
That was a coy response, not a straightforward confirmation. Chalamet did not explain the rumor’s origin or say that he was the person behind EsDeeKid’s stage name.
What happened after the interview?
On December 19, Chalamet posted a clip from a video for a remix of EsDeeKid’s track “4 Raws,” appearing alongside the masked rapper. The Guardian reported the collaboration and quoted Chalamet repeating, “All will be revealed in due time,” after BBC Radio One DJ Greg James had asked him about the rumor earlier that month.

The video established that Chalamet and EsDeeKid appeared together in the remix. It did not, by itself, establish who is behind EsDeeKid’s masked public persona. The Guardian described the collaboration as putting the speculation to bed, but the visible pairing is the clearest claim the footage supports.
Why did people think Chalamet might be EsDeeKid?
The theory drew on circumstantial similarities and Chalamet’s connection to rap, rather than a verified identification. The Guardian’s December 1 background report described EsDeeKid as a Merseyside rapper who kept his identity secret and performed in disguise. Online comparisons pointed to visible features including the artists’ eyes and nose, and claims that they shared a scarf.

Chalamet’s history of rapping and reported interest in UK underground rap also helped the idea circulate among fans. These details explain the rumor’s appeal; they do not verify it. In the same report, The Guardian said EsDeeKid’s album Rebel was Spotify’s most-streamed rap album globally in November 2025, attributing that ranking to the platform.
Did the reported schedule conflict settle the question?
No. The Guardian’s December 1 article cited a reported conflict on October 9, 2025: EsDeeKid was said to have played in Milan while Chalamet attended a film screening in New York. That reported schedule complicates the theory, but the coverage cited it as a timeline detail rather than conclusive proof, and the reports here do not independently verify travel records.

What is known about EsDeeKid’s identity?
