The official account said the next episode would air in 2027, but no exact return day has been announced in the reporting available here. The anime is going on a year-end hiatus; its return date is confirmed only to the year.
When was the last episode of 2026?
Episode 1180 was listed for September 27, 2026, on the official One Piece anime page. Fuji TV’s program listing gives the broadcast window as 11:15–11:45 p.m. Japan time on September 27 (Fuji TV schedule).
Oricon reported on September 27 that this was the final TV anime broadcast of the year. Its report attributed the update to the official One Piece account, which said: “Thank you for watching the final TV anime ONE PIECE broadcast of the year. The next episode will air in 2027. Please stay tuned for further information on the broadcast schedule.” (Oricon’s report.)
When does the One Piece anime return?
The next episode is expected in 2027. The announcement reported by Oricon did not give a month or day, so a specific return date is not confirmed. Further broadcast-schedule information was still forthcoming in that report.

How this hiatus differs from the earlier 2026 break
In an October 28, 2025 announcement, Toei Animation said the series would move to a maximum of 26 episodes per year beginning in 2026. That announcement also described a production break from January through March before the Elbaph Arc. It framed the revised cadence as a way to incorporate more manga content, tempo, and pacing while making use of storytelling specific to animation (Toei Animation’s announcement).
That January–March break was an earlier, already completed pause. It is separate from the later hiatus after the September 27 broadcast, and Toei’s 2025 announcement does not establish the next episode’s exact 2027 air date.

Where to watch while waiting
Toei Animation and Crunchyroll announced the anime’s simulcast return with the Elbaph Arc in spring 2026 (Toei Animation’s announcement). That confirms the simulcast relationship, but it does not establish which episodes are currently available in every country. Check the service’s local catalog for past episodes and any new schedule updates; catalog access can vary by territory.
Readers who want to continue with print material can consult the official One Piece manga and volume listings. The available listing identifies volume 115 as the latest volume, but it does not prescribe a starting point for anime-only viewers.
