There are no three confirmed Arcane sequel shows. Riot has named Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia as regions it is exploring for future League of Legends adaptations, but has not announced how many projects those plans will produce. One animated series was reported to have entered pre-production around late 2023; the sources reviewed do not establish its current status or a release date.
Are there really three Arcane sequel shows?
No. The three regions named by Riot’s Christian Linke are not a confirmation of three separate shows. Riot co-founder Marc Merrill clarified that the regions do not map one-to-one onto three projects, and Linke described the work as early exploration rather than a set of formally announced series. The projects are best understood as future League of Legends adaptations, not as an announced third season of Arcane.
Linke told TechRadar that Riot was “really exploring these regions and there are essential characters that are attached to those regions.” He also said the projects depended on “finding the right visionaries, storytellers, and people to shepherd and realize these,” adding that he could not “say anything too specific” at that stage. Read the TechRadar interview.
Which regions are being explored?
Noxus
Noxus is one of the regions Linke named, but it has not been confirmed as the setting for the next series. Linke declined to confirm whether Swain would appear, so there is no verified lead character or character roster.

Ionia
Ionia is also among the regions under exploration. No public announcement establishes whether it will receive its own show, share a project with another region, or be used in a particular format.
Demacia
Demacia completes the trio of regions mentioned by Linke. As with Noxus and Ionia, naming the region does not confirm a series centered on it.

How far along is development?
PC Gamer reported on November 25, 2024, that the next League of Legends animated series had entered pre-production about a year earlier. That report did not identify the region or give a release window. Read the PC Gamer report.
That dated report is not a reliable description of the projects’ present-day stage. A later TechRadar anniversary article said it had no actual development-status update to report, while noting Linke had rejected the interpretation that the three regions meant three sequel projects. The article’s lack of a public update does not establish that private work stopped or did not advance. Read the TechRadar anniversary article.

What has Riot confirmed about format, cast, and release?
The reviewed reporting does not establish the number of future adaptations, their exact format, a cast, a platform, or a release schedule. Nor does it confirm which region will appear first. Riot’s animation plans therefore remain distinct from a formal announcement with a title, episode order, or premiere date.
Christian Linke leads Riot Games’ Animation Studio and oversees animation development, according to Riot’s leadership biography. Riot has described Fortiche as a long-term collaborator, but that general relationship does not confirm Fortiche’s assignment to any specific future adaptation. Riot’s statement on its collaboration with Fortiche does not name a future project.
