Why was The Savant postponed?
Apple has not publicly explained the decision in the statement quoted by 9to5Mac. The statement said: “After careful consideration, we have made the decision to postpone The Savant. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to releasing the series at a future date.” The report said the reason was unclear. Speculation about a political controversy or a particular real-world event is not a confirmed explanation.
What is The Savant about?
Apple describes the series as a thriller about an undercover investigator known as “The Savant,” played by Jessica Chastain, who infiltrates online hate groups to try to stop domestic extremists before they act. Apple lists Nnamdi Asomugha, Cole Doman and Jordana Spiro among the cast, alongside Chastain.
