If you’re looking for movies worth watching on Netflix in June, the strongest match for this headline is the June 2024 release slate. It includes the crime comedy Hit Man, documentaries, animation, action and romance. Netflix’s schedule identifies releases, not a quality ranking, and the exact six picks behind the undated headline cannot be confirmed. Here are six June 2024 titles to consider, with Hit Man at the center.
Six Netflix movies to consider from June 2024
Netflix’s 2024 movie guide lists the following June releases. Their range makes for a varied watchlist, though a release date alone does not establish which film is best for you.

Why watch Hit Man?
Hit Man builds its crime-comedy premise around an unlikely double life: a straight-laced professor discovers he can pose convincingly as a contract killer, then falls for a client. Glen Powell and Adria Arjona lead the cast; the film also features Austin Amelio, Retta, Sanjay Rao, Molly Bernard and Evan Holtzman. Netflix lists its runtime as 1 hour, 55 minutes and 39 seconds.
Director Richard Linklater described the appeal of watching an unfamiliar line of work on screen: “I think movies show occupations really well. It’s kinda fun to watch a movie, someone has a job you’ve never thought of. This is about the weirdest job you could have.”

#1 Best Overall
It is inspired by real life, not a straightforward true story
Netflix’s explainer on the film’s real-life inspiration says it draws on real elements while taking artistic liberties. Treat it as a fictionalized comedy rather than a direct account of events.
Is Hit Man on Netflix?
Netflix listed its streaming release as June 7, 2024, in select countries, including the United States and United Kingdom. That date does not establish availability everywhere, either then or now. Check your local Netflix catalog for current availability.
Rank #2
How popular was Hit Man when it arrived?
Netflix’s global English-language film ranking placed Hit Man first for June 10–16, 2024, reporting 13.7 million views for that week. Netflix defines “views” as total hours viewed divided by a title’s runtime and rounds the result to the nearest 100,000; it is a platform metric, not a count of unique people.
